The AA ult debuff itself goes through magic immunity. The damage from it is blocked, but it still prevents HP regen and the shatter will still occur.

But they lose health from it, that's my problem :D
Having 100% magic immunity since previous patch.

No they don't....

You can see they have been under the debuff for a few seconds, and have lost no HP.

What's the build for carry alch nowadays?

I'm not sure there's a "the build" these days considering how questionable carry alch is. I'm an armlet believer since alch desperately needs raw HP and armor. Late-game it isn't enough of either but for a while it makes you pretty damn tanky. Super-late you probably want something like AC+(Satanic or Heart).

Beyond that, mjollnir seems to be the item of choice for tanky front-line heroes who just run into fights these days simply due to how busted the active is. Also basher/abyssal for obvious reasons and BKB because BKB.

I've seen bfury in a pro match recently, not sure it's needed since alch rices fine without it. Midas seems like a waste as well but I suppose you can get it. Shadowblade sucks.

Shadowblade is fine for pub games because Alch still presents quite a decent solo kill threat, and solo killing actually does a lot for a pub carry. It requires a farm/item advantage for you to leverage that though, because you have to have sufficient damage to be able to solo-kill key enemy heroes (supports aren't good enough).

Armlet is largely for a strong 1-2 item fighting/solo pressure timing. In a long, farmy game it's weaker in that slot than a bigger item (which is especially important for Alch given his low base stats and how quickly he becomes 6-slotted). It's very strong but you have to be aware that it's not an item you want to just farm with.

Its pretty hard to pop stun from far enough away that they can't hear it, shadowblade in, get the hit AND get the stun with the new shortened timer. If you just need to get the stun I think blink is probably superior both from an initiation standpoint and from a farming standpoint (30ias/22dmg or w/e is decent but blink is actually a busted farming item).

Dunno, shadowblade's just so ass on alch imo. Yeah armlet isn't really a farming item but Alch is reallly really retardedly squishy without HP + Armor items and armlet is a great one of both of those while also working quite well with his ult.

are you considering that your supports are warding properly? because that's so not happening in my pub games
so, I feel like I have to go shadowblade to be safe
Part of the inhumanity of the computer is that, once it is competently programmed and working smoothly, it is completely honest.

At the level where ur supports ward properly, the enemy smokes when they wish to gank you.

If ur dying to ganks armlet is actually pretty good at keeping u alive but realistically the solution is to farm better/safer.

SB sucks defensively since detection is easier offensively than defensively. If ur argument is "my opponents suck too bad to carry dust" then how do u need an SB to beat them

Shadow Blade should never be viewed as a defensive/escape item, as it's quite unreliable for that.

60% winrate alch, 150 games

Given an even early game: Shadowblade > blink > armlet

Shadowblade plus phase boots is just enough damage and mobility to farm two waves in a lane, and clear half the (stacked) jungle, stacking the other two camps with spray. Additionally, the solo kill potential and escape mechanism is pretty important, as you effectively secure your own free farm.

Blink dagger is great if you are being forced to fight with your team instead of free farm the jungle, i.e. against Lycan or Ember. Otherwise, it's a 2k investment that only marginally helps your farm, since you already have such great ms from ult+phase. If you get it, you have to make early teamfight winning plays to be on-par with a shadowblade or maelstrom as far as game impact.

Armlet is the option if you have a multi-core lineup, and you have an even harder carry for late game. Going treads+armlet makes you the strongest fighter in the game around 15-20 minutes. Pairs well with sniper. Follow up with sny+ac+basher. Turns out the being able to take nukes doesn't really help near as much as being able to clear the jungle and lanes safely

Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic

how many games are post nerf which heavily changed the SB and Armlet math?

I mean, everybody would love to go greedy items every game but its not a PvE game.

Watching SL, they talked quite a bit about greed, most of which made sense, but often they would bring up how they thought a team was choosing "greedy supports." I felt like they tended to just say that about every pair of supports though, so is it just that that is how the meta breaks down at the moment? What would you call greedy vs not greedy supports?

greedy or non greedy is just people not understanding what farm allocation is

In general, greedy support is support who needs money and levels to be useful like, let's say, Sand King who needs at least his dagger and arcanes to perform.
Dazzle is what you can name as non-greedy support, because he doesn't scale with items at all, arcanes or urn is enough to be ward bitch, same with guys like Disruptor.
Every jungler is greedy support, Rhasta is greedy support, Jakiro isn't greedy and so on.

thats not what the casters are talking about at all. they use the term greedy when teams pick lineups that rely on the enemy being passive. sand king, rhasta etc are heroes that need farm but picking them doesnt make you greedy. its when your line up in general cant handle fights and pressure early but can fight or pressure much better than your enemies when mid game comes. if you pick a line up like this that relys on your opponents to play passively or make mistakes, its greedy
