Would love to know what we could have done better. I felt I was the only one who defended towers. Had to buy wards to secure jungle vision. (I played my worst game in a long time)
Amount of gay heroes in this game is overwhelming tho l0l. I assume, that ET was pulling while Weaver was offlane and Furion hadn't ganked once?
First of all, your team in general is awfully bad against Phoenix. When Phoenix isn't shut down completely, well, game is hard.
Giviing free space to Geomancer isn't best decision either to say the least. You could run some ganking squads with Furion, Ember Spirit and ET early stun to shut down either TB or Meepo at least, if not them, Naga support is vulnerable while she doesn't have 11 because taking her song with 160 seconds cd is almost same as taking the kill.

Hello all,
Haven't been playing long and I only play a few heroes but I'm decent with the ones I play. Focusing on learning one at a time really well before moving on to another one.
Mainly I play Tinker, I can play Sniper pretty well (who can't amirite) and recently I've picked up Ursa and getting decent with him.
Can someone recommend a 4th Hero to start working on that complements my capabilities? Sometimes I find if the other team has too many gankers or disablers/stuns or whatever I can't really be effective. So what would be a good counter pick to add to my arsenal?
Thanks

riki, the pubhero. Many people died because of this hero.

To answer your question: learn something that isn't farm dependant. Literally any support.
Also stop focussing on specific heroes there's no reason to and general game-sense and knowledge is far more important than having a bunch of games with a hero. Like, you will be a better ursa after playing every hero once than you will be after grinding 100 games of ursa. Having played each hero helps you understand what that hero does and how to play against them.

If you channel Epicenter and blink inside a chronosphere what happens?

I guess you're right, though I'm talking very few games played here, probably around 10 games as Ursa if that.
I find myself quite farm dependent all the time which is annoying. Will look into some supports.

You could also try batrider as he's not really a support but rather an initiator.
While he badly needs a blink, he is very flexible in where you lane him (offlane, mid, jungle, etc) and can always retreat into the jungle for just a few minutes and magically produce a blink. After blink all the rest of your items are less crucial and quite cheap compared to the types of things other heroes need to farm.
Anyway, I was just using ursa as an example. I maintain that for the VAST majority of heroes, your performance will increase more by playing all the heroes than it will by grinding that particular hero in order to learn it better. At least until you have played each hero once. At which point you won't need anybody to recommend you heroes since you can just pick whichever ones you enjoyed and go from there
(I'll admit that tinker actually takes a decent amount of hero-specific practice to get right )

Actually I've just been reading up on all the hero pages on liquipedia just to figure out what their skills are.
Now I know what Terrorblade's ultimate does -________-
I'll check out batrider, especially since I have a whole bunch of swag for him.

Why don't more pro games use Tusk? I love playing him and I think he works so good with many heroes? what are his major drawbacks that keep him out of the pro play?

Snowball too slow and not cancelable. If you see him coming, you can simply just run back under your tower and have your team tp onto him. His initiation ability also makes whoever comes with him land exactly upon him, and bunching up is the last thing you ever want to do in a teamfight. He's also not that strong in the lategame.
Its not that he doesn't have his uses by any means. But his weaknesses are glaring, and progamers know how to exploit them.

you don't initiate with snowball, and you should rarely snowball with any allies i think he's decent but pretty situational (he's really bad against any lineup with a lot of blinks), and there's not really any reason to run him over more traditional heroes

1) How do I lane as a support when the enemy send 2 aggressive heroes to our safe lane, when we are; dual lane and tri-lane. Should I not pull if I am dual and same with tri if they are dual against us? (axe + timber)
2) What do I do as support. If I got a hard carry to support (spectre...), but versus a dual lane (axe + timber). Should I leave the lane and help others to loose up? I feel I get nothing done for him, and he will just die anyways...
3) In games where the enemy has 4 people running around the map. And one guy is farming free behind them (Terrorblade), in lane and in the jungle. How can I handle this situation? I have been losing a lot versus this because I don't know what to do. (I play support and offlaners) NB: What if the enemy has 2 people farming, and 3 people running around? Should we equalize and send 2 people to contest the farmers?

it's better if you give some dotabuff matches so that it's easier to give specific solutions

Why is it in All Pick you say hey I wanna play mid pick your hero way before the timer ends, Put your little icon on the mini map and then someone grabs a pudge or invoker and demands mid? why is that

I got commented that this thread is not a replay analysis thread, when I did that. But I can yes.

The problem isnt that 5 midhero's are picked on the same team. The problem is that you loose mmr when you encounter these shitty lineups. Maybe they should give people the choice if the game counts for ranked or unranked after the draft in any gamemode (AP/CM/CD/Random).

A much more practical approach would be to realize that these lineups (and other various illogical sorts) will inevitably happen in your games and learn to play with/against them rather than make yourself feel a tad better and never leave the trench.
