A much more practical approach would be to realize that these lineups (and other various illogical sorts) will inevitably happen in your games and learn to play with/against them rather than make yourself feel a tad better and never leave the trench.
Ofcourse, but i dont believe this only occurs in the trench but also at higher mmr ranges. People tend to pick 5 hero's on an AP-team that all need to much farm as 5 to function.

MMR range doesn't matter. It can be harder, but it is still possible to win in such scenarios on either side. Just because you are unfamiliar with it doesn't mean it's impossible.

When I tread switch to use my bottle, do I need to put it on agility at the beginning to get the added regen or can I change midway?
|
The longer you're in agility during the regen, the more effective regen you'll get upon switching back to int.
The principle is that the way flat +hp or +mana bonuses work is that any increase maintains the same percent value of the stat.
Using any hero as an example. Pretend he starts at 500 / 1000 hp, and has no natural regen. If the hero picks up an ogre club (10 strength, so +190 hp), his health value is now 580 / 1190 - it maintains a 50% hp value even though the item adds 190 to max hp.
So if you're a hero that has a 300 mana pool on agi treads, you'd go from 0 / 300 to 210 / 300 mana (70%) if you used all 3 bottle charges on agi treads, then when you switched to intel treads you'd have 282 / 404 (70%) mana. If you only do some of the charges on agi treads, or cast spells on something other than intel treads, you're likely losing out on efficiency.

In what situations is it good to get an orb of venom and in what situations is it preferable to anything else. I am asking about the lanning phase and for later in the game. What about if I have random gold?
|
Not so much a strategy question but a technical question, where can I find the sound file for the buyback sound? I'm using GCFScape and spent a good 30mins looking at all the dota 2 sounds. Found the sounds for pretty much every hero, ability, backgroun music, UI sounds etc but just cant find BB sound. Which subsection is it under?

in my experience; it's never worthwhile for ranged heroes, for melee heroes it's often worthwhile if your lane has other slows of 15-30%; there the extra slow from the orb makes the biggest difference in being able to chase/kill heroes. if you have a lot of stuns it tends to be redundant; and if you have high end slows like maxed drow frost arrow, additional slowing tends not to make a difference. It also depends on how soon you might want another orb for the character.
heroes that I find to be good orb candidates: abbadon, brewmaster, pudge, bounty hunter.

1) How do I lane as a support when the enemy send 2 aggressive heroes to our safe lane, when we are; dual lane and tri-lane. Should I not pull if I am dual and same with tri if they are dual against us? (axe + timber)
2) What do I do as support. If I got a hard carry to support (spectre...), but versus a dual lane (axe + timber). Should I leave the lane and help others to loose up? I feel I get nothing done for him, and he will just die anyways...
3) In games where the enemy has 4 people running around the map. And one guy is farming free behind them (Terrorblade), in lane and in the jungle. How can I handle this situation? I have been losing a lot versus this because I don't know what to do. (I play support and offlaners) NB: What if the enemy has 2 people farming, and 3 people running around? Should we equalize and send 2 people to contest the farmers?

Lone Druid is one that should be mentioned too

Is it a problem to smash Axe-Timber with trilane? Get Luna, Visage and Dazzle, watch how they die from autoattacks. Basically, you need to pull only to stop lane on one place, don't pull when you have some carry like Phantom Lancer who needs to lose 200 hp sometimes to get every creep because you just single-pulled.
How can you die from Axe-Timber with Spectre and support, l0l? Timber without experience can't do shit and Axe will just spam early hungers which he can't spam if he doesn't have bottle/basilius. Just hit Timber more and more, force him to not use W offensively + get useful supports with some stuns/sustain. + It will be useful to get dispersion for Spectre just to reflect hunger damage.
When enemy has 4 people roaming, you can just push with 5 heroes. Terrorblade is very immobile and won't join them and if you have at least some cc in your team it won't be huge problem to force profitable fights, get towers and stuff. Just be aware of TB getting your own towers or get more than he gets. And tbh it's all about games and your experience, proper warding is almost everytime best answer to all rotations, i hope you know at least some cheeky wards which won't be dewarded instantly.

Against an axe+timbersaw lane i would pick lich as babysit for spectre. You can get the creeps closer under the tower for safety, give extra xp. Next to that your Q is the most abnoxious harras ability known to liches all over the world (and it doesnt proc axe passive). Dont attack axe with rightclicks --> only Q+E perpetuum mobile.
dotabuff Axe vs Lich : 43% Timbersaw vs Lich : 37%
Else i would get lion too atleast use manastarve+stun perpetuum mobile. Silincer E spell is painfull ability which can harras atleast 1 hero back to the fountain before silincer gets manastarved, Q is also a solid spell but its more areabased harras, so silincer grants less sustainable spellharras, better lategame support overal. Still i would prefer lich as first pick with the Q+E combo.

Do Spectre's illusions get the full damage bonus of Desolate, or do they just get 40% of it in case of Haunt illusions and 33% for Manta ones?
EDIT: also is there a reason that Spectral Dagger is not blocked by Linken's? Like something from the WC3 dota that causes it not to be blocked

They get the full damage.
Desolate isn't regular "damage". It's a triggered instance of bonus pure damage.
