should a relatively new player do it or not? right now im thinking to repeat it (did it whithout knowing like 50% when i was totally new to dota) pro: i get a second insight of all heros, esp those which i dont pick usually (read carries) con: can mess up the game for my team when i hit heros i cant play (like meepo) i might get stuck with some heros (read meepo) which might be frustrating for me and my team, since they have to play basically 4v5 | ||

It's not as costly, gives a bit more hp, there's more ms/as and you can boost your teams as/ms in team fights. Though there are better items for supports like Mek or Urn or Force Staff.. | ||

Question: I was trying out the new Broodmother yesterday, and I still cant figure out how to be useful with the hero. The webs are really awesome for being nearly impossible to kill, but I still hit that wall with her where Ive spit pushed, taken towers and forced a lot of attention on myself, but I cant transition into anything useful in the 30-40 minute mark. I wasnt much of a factor in teamfights despite all the farming I did. I have no idea what to do once Ive taken outer towers (t3 is a bitch to take, and by that time People have usually bought BoTs to deal with the splitpush) or when to join fights. Item build was phase / manta / butterfly / basher (BKB did little vs their team). It still seems like the type of hero Id only ever choose if i had a team 100% commited to split pushing | ||

BM excels at staying in the lane, push hard and punish any teamfight by taking the towers. I am sure someone will disapprove this and come with the skill set(passive and ulti especially) arguments. I also failed to build her as a proper carry even with orchid. You should split and choke the opponent in the lane by skill harass and with spiders if no aoe is present. | ||

Then concerning team, it's the heroe I feel the more dependant on my mates, she's at her best when the other 4 have a good teamfight comp and can achieve objectives when they're 4o3. So I would say brood is as good as your mates' understanding how to play with brood. | ||

--- Anyone know how the new venomancer works with his wards? -Does the slow from the ward's poison sting and veno's poison sting stack? -Do the wards apply their own buff that does 0 damage when the target already has been hit by veno's poison sting or do they extend the duration of the current poison sting debuff? For example if I hit someone with a poison sting auto-attack then my ward starts hitting them will the ward keep extending the full 100% damage poison sting from veno or will it apply its own buff placer that will start dealing damage once the sting from veno wears off? | ||

For higher skilled/difficult heroes do everyone a favor and practice a computer game first. I am new myself, but it is annoying when people have so little respect for others. Many heroes you can get away with playing for the first time in matchmaking once you get a general feel for the game (in my experience as a new player), but the more unique ones I'd definitely practice first. I was playing with a TL'r the other day who went crystal maiden, and when I click on him mid-game he has level 4 aura and ZERO levels in crystal nova. I'm a nice, forgiving person... but at that point you're not bad, you're disrespectful of other people's time by not taking literally 30 seconds to check out a basic skill guide. Valve should make how to use the in-game guides made by people more obvious, took me a while to learn to use them. They might not always be optimal but they're usually not awful. | ||

We didn't have a team comp that was mana hungry or anything, and even then... Apparently his lane partner (they were duo lane) didn't notice and then in mid-game noted they could've had some kills that were close if they'd just had the nova. Sorry if I sound overly serious. Even in the game I mention I just laughed it off, though I did tell the guy he should spend a minute consulting a general guide or something in the future. | ||

I'd think just stick with brown boots (phase might be nice, but other items you want more). The armor is really nice though, perhaps get the ring of protection for casual armor and then just sell it later? Meanwhile, rush vanguard then blink generally off brown boots+RoP. Just have to get the ring of health (the 875 one) asap (perhaps before even boots) so you can jungle effectively. | ||
