Think about it. You have your own private ferry. No one will whine if you need another tango or if you keep bottlecrowing. And when they're not in use, you can just place them around to scout instead of wards! Oops. Did your courier get sniped? Don't worry, there's four more to choose from.

Really it's not that big of a deal to courier your RoP if you just use some common sense about when you do it (e.g. if mid just got a rune, then you can use it because he's obviously not going to need to send his Bottle home right this second). On July 23 2013 07:20 Xxazn4lyfe51xX wrote: Why not? RoP + stout + branch and you still have enough gold to grab a tango or salve.. Now you can get your tranqs at the side shop without using the courier. This of course assumes you know you want to get tranqs when you start I guess. Most of the time when a lane is hard enough for you to need to get Tranquils, it means you need the full complement of regen to GET to Tranquils

As for the second question, you should first see what team has the better late game potential. If your team does, you should just assume a defensive position and farm farm farm (unless you get a huge advantage early). If their team does, you should hit a nice and early item timing and start being aggressive. (Examples would be early Yasha, SnY on melee, Drums, ect.) And when you get those items, you need to go aggressive with them asap.

In the beginning you don't push your lane because it puts you in a disadvantageous position, what would be reasons to push it? Also, I see progamers use their mana to farm and then go back to base to regen, I don't udnerstand how they know they're not needed for a teamfight at that time. Also, when do you go defend a push rather than split push?

) thread, here's some simple guidelines.A usual timing to take towers is when you've just won a teamfight. A exceptional timing to take towers are when your split pushing, all the enemy heroes are on the map and you can take the tower OR you have a pushing based lineup (leshrac/pugna/tiny/sniper) that have spells that damage towers, you can and should take the towers early for mapcontrol. Mapcontrol is the direct result of taking towers, a simple analogy is say, Dire Mid tower. If radiant doesn't destroy that tower and a fight breaks out at the river or roshan, people can respawn/buyback and teleport back straight to the fight as the tower is still up. Another example is you have a lot of ganking heroes, if you break their safelane tier1 early, they are forced to stick close to their T2 as their jungle is now unsafe and exposed to potential gankers. Basically, all I am saying is that you must understand what towers do, and why should you be taking those towers, then you would have answered your own question. Hope that helps.

Basilius and tranq boots are 2 of the best early game items you can have. If you get RoP at the start, you don't need to wait 25-40 seconds for the chick to deliver it and your team doesn't need to wait 1 full minute for chick to be available again. A start I do on certain heroes is stout/RoP/branch/tango. If you would send the courier for just a RoP, you could also send the courier for just regen items and a couple of branches*. The difference is that you know if you want to build anything with an RoP, while you never can be sure how much regen you actually need in lane. *I do recommend to use the courier only when necessary. The sideshops are available and have very good sortiment. You can buy entire power treads, phase boots, arcane boots and poor mans shield. It also has blink dagger, magic stick, morbid mask, Orb of Venom(secret shop item), everything to make oblivion staffs and tp scrolls. The courier is shared by the team and if 5 people were ferrying small items you would need to wait an average of 3 minutes per trip before the courier is available to you.

I did these using http://dota2draft.the-cluster.org/ you get paired with some random person or a friend and you just play CM picking phase. I did two picks, first as Dire, second as Radiant. Here are the links to the results: Dire Radiant Your dire picks are fine, although i dont understand why you would want to run support naga with naix and bear. You should aggro trilane since it has a lot of kill potential and let bear solo top since he can farm better. Your radiant picks dont make any sense. You have a heavy pushing lineup but your carry is CK, who is only useful paired with wisp. Since you have a chen in the jungle your furion is going to be useless for a very long time up top. He will either get 0 exp or feed.

I'm sure I've seen an option somewhere, but I can't find it now. EDIT: and I found it within 10 seconds of posting. Settings>Game>Interface, right hand side. Nothing to see here, carry on.

Also, when do you go defend a push rather than split push? You should push before you plan to team fight and to force a rotation/make them waste exp defending at tower. Also defensively pushing out gives vision and makes someone reveal themselves. Mid-late game you can push out before you feel you're going to get ganked, since you won't be able to static farm anyway. The simple explanation, you should defend a push when your teamfight is stronger. You can split push when you have weaker teamfight (like they have super 5 man aoe), to force them to split up, so you can tp back and engage with numbers. Pros using mana, well they have wards and map vision and know the other team's not about to fight someone.

RoP, tango, salve, buy stout at 7s from side shop. Then you have your normal full set of regen, a stout and the ability to make tranqs from the side shop.
