When I play Gyro I usually go for Ring of Auqila, Drums of Endurance, Magic Stick, Power Threads and then either go Helm of the Dominator, Shadow Blade or Black King Bar next depending on the game. My problem is that with a tp scroll that is all of my inventory. It really feels like I'm filling out my inventory too soon. Is this bad? Should I skip an item? If my build is fine, which item should I drop first when getting the next upgrade? I generally drop the Magic Stick first, RoQ next and then the Drums. So far this seems to be working but it feels sluggish, like I could go for a big item a lot faster.
No, i think all of your item choices are fine as far as i can see. With that build you focus on a gyrocopter that should be active early to mid game and falls of late game a bit because you spend ~2,7k(RoA + Drums) on items that you are about to sell again. It all depends on what kind of gyro you wanna play. An active and teamfighting or ganking/roaming role and he is fine with your build. If you play him as hard carry you might want to skip Ring, Drums and/or Stick to get MKB or Butterfly as damage item. Chose your items by the role you have to fill.
Second quesiton, what items should I build with Spectre? played a spectre game the other day and went for Poor Mans Shield into Tranquil Boots, then Diffusal Blade, a naked Vitality Booster and then a Blademail and Heart of Tarrasque. It really was a Phantom Lancer build up until the Blademail, which I saw a Spectre do once.
My build felt bad, I didn't think the Diffusal Blade did much for me besides providing a slow. Whats a better item build besides rushing Radiance (which I generally never build)?
Diffusal is a nice choice because all hunt illusions get mana burn as well. If you max out desolate early on you will shreed lone supports with one ulti. It is always a good choice on spec. You might want to add a Manta for even more illus. Nothing wrong with you build again no reason to feel bad about them. I dont know any other builds that might be as effective as the manta + diffu combo or the radiance + tanky stuff route.

For spectre my preferred build is tranquil drums then diffusal. After that should be heart or radiance. Radiance is good on her as a second big item because with it and your ultimate you'll nearly kill all of the enemy supports with just that. Also the first three items should be more than enough so you can fight in the mid game.

One thing to note is that if you go Tranquil Boots on Spectre, you should disassemble them around midgame. Illusions always have broken Tranquils, so it actually hits the power of your ult a lot if you have Tranquil Boots midgame and not Phase or Treads.

the recommended items on abbadon say to get tranqs early and to disassemble into phase later, presumably using the parts for a vlads or something. Is this actually what i should be doing or should i just get manaboots?
edit- or rather, how do i know what boots to buy in what situations as abbadon?

Tranquils are OK in certain situations. Phase and Manaboots are as well.
If you disassemble Tranquils, it will probably be for Mek first. A lot of times you'd just not bother with the Tranquils and use Urn as your regen item because the hero is a very good Urn carrier.

Thanks for the quick awnsers people, guess my build wasn't as bad as I thought for both Gyro and Spectre. I generally prefer fighting mid game with Gyro so I guess my build works out ok then. Maybe I should just stick to a Ring of Bassilius and skip the Aquila? And for Spectre, I assume I should try to get pickoff kills on support heros as soon as I have Diffusal Blade?
On another note, can anyone explain the compendium courier to me? At the start it was said that you needed to watch a lot of game to unlock new versions of the courier. Now however I've heared that you need to play the compendium matches for (random?) drops that unlock stuff for you? Are new versions of the courier even implemented yet or do I have to wait for Ti3?

You think Abaddon will be in -cm for DotA 2? If he is, how would he be skilled, built, and laned (typically)? Was he used a lot in DotA 1?

He will most likely have a lot of bugs to iron out before he gets added to -CM.

All the dispel interactions will take longer than slark to do I bet, and that was a few months

Well yeah, my question though is before or after diffusal.
I have always preferred after since that is when I feel like you get the most out of it.
Also do her illusions have fixed move speed, or does it scale with items?

Spectres illusions have her own movespeed including aura modifiers like yasha and drums.
They can't use item active effects like phase, though.

They don't have her movespeed, they actually have their own base movespeed which is independently modified by her items. Their base movespeed is 400, which is acceptable early game, but 425 MS (base + broken Tranquils) is often slower than you want them to be once you get to teamfights with various stacking MS effects (e.g. Drums).

You don't really have to actively hunt around the map. Whenever you use your ult, just look out for opportunities to pick up solo kills on someone by themselves. Just make sure you have a tp if you want to go on someone who is in enemy territory.
That's one of specs main strengths. You can just be chillin' in your jungle farming up some items, but if a fight breaks out you can come in and clean up very easily.

When did abba's shield became unstackable? i.e. explode when the second is applied?

unlike 5 man push mid where you either win the game right there or the enemy know how to counter it and you lose

Is there anyway to appear "invisible" on steam/dota 2 while still being able to see what other people are doing? Currently am offline in steam and can play dota 2, but can't see who else is.

Yeah, but it's not that I never want to play with the person, just not all the time. Don't think the option exists unfortunately... gmail (well gchat or w/e) and skype have it!

Unblocking them is pretty easy. I block/unblock people I hide from lol.
