Basically how he does it is he A-clicks weaver from greater than 500 units away from the creeps. The creeps won't aggro razor because he is outisde their aggro range. This triggers their aggro CD however, so during those 2 seconds you have time to hit him without drawing aggro.

I understand the subsequent attacks but the first one should've aggro'd for sure. He is like 150-200 units away from the melee creep yet still doesn't aggro. The initial attack needs to be done 500 units away that I know. edit: is it maybe because the melee creep just switched to another target?

It's a good rule of thumb, but pubs are mad anyways. If you can't three quarter solo rosh, it's not worth even starting him without stacking buddies.

(Assuming you will only be able to take max 1 tower). I find in a lot of pub games it's hard to get people to rosh and they would rather just knockdown their T2 and then back up and wait for them to respawn. In a pub midgame, if someone is carrying the team a fair bit, generally I would want to rosh so they can be more aggressive. Towers aren't as valuable in pubs since people don't take full advantage of map control. If the quality of the team in general is quite high, sometimes its better to take towers if that lets the supports ward and enable your team to invade the enemy jungle or w/e. But how often do you see pubs with wards? Later game people don't often have buyback, and rosh is rarely alive for long (I keep a rosh timer, so I try to force my team there whenever its up again). This means its often time to try to take a t3. If the fight was because of rosh, if can still be a good idea to take it then push in though. One thing you should consider before pushing though is your hp and cds. If you can win fights because tidehunter and enigma ults, where as they have a lot of heroes like storm and beast with no or very short ulti cooldowns, it may not be wise to push far. The same goes if you are quite low after the fight. Basically, if in doubt, rosh. The rule only works because pubs though.

I use the courier to supply me with clarities and healing salves. But this seems to cost a fortune and slows down my acquisition of items. Are mangos more cost efficient than healing salves, and should I be using the fountain more for healing? Salves are more cost efficient if they get the whole duration off and heal for the full amount. Early game you generally don't want to be missing 400hp though and tangos let you top yourself off. They also persist through damage unlike salves so you can continue to last hit and harass while using them. For health the best method is to just not lose health! Make sure you aren't taking unnecessary damage from creeps or enemy heroes and focus on positioning. For mana some heroes need items like mana boots, soul ring, or the like, but the general principal is to make sure you are using spells efficiently. Don't spam spells pointlessly.
