http://dota2.gamepedia.com/Changes_from_DotA That tells you a couple of the namechanges, google for DotA 1 heroes or dota hero names will/should tell you who Mangix or Mercurial are, or that Mirana is a Priestess of the Moon (PotM). Players will use the heroes' dota 1 names, and it can get confusing, but you'll learn in time. | ||

For example, I didn't know ES meant Earth Shaker until I searched through the hero list for a name that ES could stand for. I am asking if there is a chart somewhere that connects all the common acronyms to hero names. | ||

Almost all of them should just be the first letter of the words or if they have a single word it'll be the first letters like alchemist is commonly called alch. One exception would be people calling Elder Titan 'TC' because he was named Tauren Chieften in dota1. Some people call him ET and others call him TC. People also call Mirana PotM and Nature's Prophet Furion because of their dota1 title/name. You can also run into overlaps like SK could refer to Sand King or Skeleton King (some people make the distinction by writing SKK, but not always). BM could be several heroes as well, but people typically only call Beastmaster BM. Broodmother and Brewmaster are called brood and brew. | ||

If you click right in front of you, it will still end up 1000 units in front. So if you use x to set it up, you often have to use the extra time to run backwards to run away into range. | ||
