GG EG!! Missed 3 games yesterday, the two against Perky Pepperoni and the firt game vrs Ritsu stack. For those who didnt catch any games, EG dominated most games from start to finish, played very professional in most of the games, concentrating alott on theier ward game and farming. Love the way Zai moves around the map. Fear plays carry as he always did, looks very strong. Universe also look strong, he and Zai had some cute plays together. Ofc, alott of weak teams, so im not going to hype too much, but the drafts and play was all in all convincing from the boys.

Out2Win was the only game where the other team had an extremely good draft. Enough that ppd last-picked an Alchemist. They were able to keep the game actually close in the first 10 minutes, which is something pretty much no one else managed. But, well, EG's player skill was just higher, though it was a good game.
Luccini managed to stay around in the game, sort of, because Slark was off free-farming, but EG's timing was always going to hit too strong before Slark could have a chance to solo-carry the game.
I missed the Shazam game, but Shazam's no-push draft really didn't pay off. Though the plan they had made sense: make it nearly impossible to break high ground. Though that only works if you're not all dead.
Part of me hopes EG runs the table in the Regionals, so we get some fun win-streak headed into Nanyang.
Oh, and the Ritsu Stack, because they've actually played at higher levels, seemed the most tilted against EG. The rest of the teams were mostly in YOLO mode, which at least made it slightly interesting.

EG looked a lot better. Fear has a solid resolution when he engages and picks targets as carry, and is a lot better at getting more done when he's given early aggression role. EG put more on Sumail's shoulders and drafted him more true carries in mid (PL, Jugg, alch) with Fear/Zai's reliable ability to make room.
They weren't against the best opponents, but it was nice to see a more solid direction in their games. Their drafts are back to looking extremely open-ended where a fighting core could realistically go to 4 of their 5 players.
edit: oh and Fear + Universe's synergy on getting wombo combos off is nice to see again. Basically Fear is great and I hope he sticks around as carry forever.

I was just waiting for someone from EG to taunt the guys from Ritsu stack since I really don't like them (I'm surely not the only one here feeling that way). Like, just tell them to get out of the game before they gg or something like that. But sadly nothing of the sort
Also the Ritsu stack did take out Veggies iirc so more reason to hate on them.

When EG picked IO i literally died :D Woop, we are io pickers! Ritsu stack got absolutely dismantled in the bo3s same with that silly pepperoni team lol. Not alot to shout about as the opposition maybe is to weak to account for anything but boy EG stomped that, hoping for some more solid plays in the main qualifiers. I lold when Zai had a sub 10 minute blink on position 4 lion after tri laning, i was a bit in shock so to speak!

Yeah, the real tests are CoL and DC... Those are going to be interesting games for sure. Im such a zai fanboy lol... just love that he can play everything, and he does so much with heroes like ET, BH, Nyx etc. scary dude ;-)

Yeah he literally a young fear. Loving the drafts and playstyle. Bring on regionals!

If the DotaBuff analysis is correct, EG only lost a single Tier 3 tower (no raxs) the entire Qualifier run. And that happened while they were getting Megas on the other team. (This game.)
Just something I thought I'd note.
I also don't think they'll always run Zai so aggressive as a support against DC & Complexity (well, maybe not DC) because they'll be actually used to dealing with the pressure. It's pretty necessary for tier 1 teams.

EG qualifier run was definitly impressive. I would be really surprised if they didn't get at least Top 2 in the main qualifier.

Feels so good to have Fear on carry and Zai and Universe back on the squad and looking in form.

Thoughts on the Za-Io?
Caught his stream for 5 minutes, he was playing a nice earth spirit

Looked fine, and it seemed like the team had practiced it. We might not see it much until they drop it at TI. Expect that they've been practicing it a lot when teams just randomly ban it.

If they're not willing to let it go against top teams then there is no point in having Zai play it, unless it's first pick. There goes that draft advantage.
EG and PPD know how to play against Io, I specifically remember PPD's lion consistently landing 2 man Impale's on offensive relocates.

I think EG can definitely beat coL.
DC, on the other hand, is a question mark because w33 and Misery always seem to give EG trouble.
