Congratulations to Nigma for defeating RNG 3-1 in the Grand Finals of the Bukovel Minor! Nigma somehow pulled through in game 4, coming back from an over 30k net worth disadvantage. Incredible plays from MinD_ControL and GH were abound, so this is definitely a game worth watching in the vods.

45k net worth disadvantage Оо

1.Congratulations Nigma, and also WePlay: this was the best Minor I've ever experienced! Been watching since the first match of the tournament, production is on point. The fireworks at the end were beautiful (and must have awoken the whole city, as I think it was beyond 1AM on Ukraine?). 2.I've been wondering how much Neutral Items impacted the measure of Networth. Of course, it isn't the best way to measure advantage, as some heroes depends less on gold and have different timings, but still, looks like Networth has been less trustful on this Minor. Am I the only one who got this impression?

Neutral items are no joke for poor heroes. The thing is there is a net worth difference (as the other team also has neutral items), but that difference matters less as slots get filled out. In previous patches, those slots weren't so full but this patch has so many items to go around.
The invisible net worth actually makes a big difference for bounty calculations too.

Correct title : RNG chokes and loses Minor...don't want to take anything from Nigma (particularly the ds comboes and disengages were sweet) but...2 throws with that much nw advantage....how often does that happen...and dear god...did they get lucky with the dd runes and neutral items on miracle especially (not saying that's the only reason they turned it). In any case, they have a whole major to prove how much luck was a part of it.

Awesome event, agreed. One of the best i've ever witnessed. Hope Bukovel get another one next year.

This was indeed a great tournament, although the schedule looked a bit iffy. Playing till 04:00hrs AM in the morning is definitiely not fun at all for players and audience.
Game 2 and 4 of the grand final may already be candidates for match of the year. The resilience from Nigma to not give up although you are that far behind was just stunning. GH played a phenomenal series and MC is showing over and over again why he is apparently the best DS-player in this game. Nerf incoming...again!
A pity that RNG is not part of the Major as well, pretty sure they would have been able to make some upsets. Time to adjust my sleeping schedule that were some long days.

This tourney had really good production value but i would prefer they had better scheduling so we could see the best dota possible being played.

Always a question of defining a "throw", but the only real throw and wtf-moment for me was probably in game 2, when Setsu jumps his QoP on the highground near the Roshpit - without any support from his team - gets surrounded by all of Nigma and destroyed. And I think he didn't have buyback! What was that please?

@Geiterkarle : He wanted to finish off gh i think it was, who was low and had no bb. That was the intent...he assumed he would retreat toward shrine, gh retreated towards where mid t2 was. Anyway, game 2 and 4 were RNG's to lose, and part of the reason most of us love this game is because how merciless it is. In a way, that was karma for the game 3 of the upper bracket final, where liquid threw it.

Indeed RNG played nearly flawless games. Game 2 was a throw by Setsu ok, but Game 4? Dont know what they could have make better in that game, most of the engagements outside the base were won, they controlled the map and the pit, they had four heroes farming while only Miracle could keep up with them and he got countered hard by Spectre....maybe one of them should have bought an Euls or Rod of Atos to keep at least one of Nigmas heroes in position and force them to fight, but that MC/GH-combo was just perfectly played not much you can do about it once youre BKBs are gone.
Nobody knows better than Nigma what a farmed Drow can do to your base if she is being unattended for one minute when you have messed up a highground-push...from their seven losses, four were against a Drow lineup.

RNG could definetly close out game 4. As dumb as it might sound: With 40k advantage you can get 2 Meteor Hammer and 2 Aether lens and just hammer their structures from behind.
|
didnt expect RNG to choke that hard and Nigma to get their shit together. I am happy for them, GG Nigma! But also a little sad for RNG, hope they dont disband, they are close before becoming strong.
|
The neutral items that Nigma got was something else tho thx icefrog!

Not to surprised, they did throw games the whole tournament, on the flip side they look the best most of it. They remind me of old Alliance.

congrats on starting a bo5 final at 20.00 CET, fuckin stupid

So apparently late game drow > late game spectre, welcome to 2020

Small drow nerf before the major?

That's a weird solution but at least an answer to the question I've been wondering for the last 24 hours, so thanks.
