Thanks for the link, gave it a short watch during the vp vs secret game and he is quite the enjoyable listen. Still just gonna watch through esl though since my japanese is not good enough
I see you prefer subs to dubs, even in DotA. How hardcore.
ith plssss It says more about the casting level of the few englishspeaking streams that I actually enjoyed a cast in a language I dont fully understand more than what they can offer. just take that clip on kuro's meteor hammer play the cast is horrible

I'm also assuming the JP guy didn't have subs, in the first place. How much do you understand of what he's saying?
A lot of the Dota jargon is still in there so you can understand a surprisingly high amount. Also really liked his "KUMA BEAR KUMA BEAR KUMA BEAR" when secret rushed the throne against VP
We’ve been seeing a bunch of discussion regarding DotaTV and want to expand on what we’ve said before.
The first issue we’ve been seeing discussed is regarding DMCA notices. This one is very simple: No one besides Valve is allowed to send DMCA notices for games streamed off of DotaTV that aren’t using the broadcasters’ unique content (camera movements, voice, etc).
The second issue is regarding who is permitted to cast off of DotaTV. We designed the DotaTV guidelines to be flexible in order to allow for up and coming casters, or community figures like BSJ or Bulldog that occasionally watch tournament games on their channel, to be able to stream off of DotaTV. It is not to allow commercial organizations like BTS to compete with the primary stream. It’ll be our judgment alone on who violates this guideline and not any other third party’s.
And now ESL just doesn't have Dota 2 at their events if they have to violate their Facebook contract. This thing where Valve lets anyone stream shit off of Dota TV going to make the international the big LAN around on a long enough time line.
ESL could just host their own tournaments that aren't a part of the valve funded circuit, and then they can do whatever they want, including not having dotaTV enabled.
But if you wanna host a tournament in the valve funded circuit you're gonna play by valve's rules.
It's never been an issue in the past because no one else has been stupid enough to try to stream entirely on a universally despised platform. Well, actually, there have been azubu tournaments and OG streaming on hitbox, but restreaming wasn't really an issue for them from what I recall - the viewership was lower, but there weren't really restream. TI is the big tournament around right now because it's the only one allowed to crowdfund.

yea it's the worst shit when i was in school they had the very early versions of it and there were ways to get around it but now i heard the webcam is mandatory
It is only used in one class, so I'm not too annoyed. It is also the one where the professor just sent out an email begging students not to alter his private SQL tables lol
