My team and me won that headset (just from Qpad, the Hyperx one is a rebranded Qpad iirc) for 2nd place at a local LAN, it's really good for a gaming headset and not just some junk with crappy audio quality. Plus I have a sound card, that certainly helps with the sound.

yeah I mean its not a senheiser in terms of sound quality, but everything sounds just fine..and the quality of the build is light years ahead of the plastic siberias. the mic is also crisper and sounds better.

why not spend a bit more to get a das or a ducky unless you're into the whole lighting thing

I have a das w/ brown switches that I use for typing papers and whatnot. I like the browns for typing.
as for gaming, I have to have red switches. the color thing is not the selling feature to me (though the backlit keyboard with customization is pretty neat to play with), otherwise I would get something else..they just happen to have red switches on a tournament size keyboard (no keypad) with a good build quality.
those are the 2 things I was looking for in my next gaming keyboard
that said, I love my das keyboard silent for everything else...I can bang out a paper so fast that my writing thought process can't keep up with my hands.

ugh i hated the blue switches. maybe it was just the keys that razer used but they felt so flimsy and cheap.
i used to like the clicking but i like the firmer, more solid sound that the blacks and reds make.

It should be the other way around though, browns are generally better for typing and the click responses of blues make more sense for gaming an pressing buttons

But if I'm typing a term paper or something I might switch since I feel more comfortable on blues.

Yup I definitely do this when I'm typing a paper :D. The Browns are definitely better than the reds for typing.

Shit-Tier posting first hand folks. Take notes and learn from this.

I use a filco with browns for work and a filco at home cause I mostly game when I'm at home.
No real preference although I'd actually really like reds as I loved them when I got to try them out someplace.
But my keyboards are working fine and I don't want to dish out cash when my keyboards are currently working fine.
