Virot2's (I think that was his name) manta Tinker guide was the guide that opened my eyes to the hero. I don't remember a thread flaming BoTs on him though; I assumed people quickly figured out that was the main way to play him.

iirc back then you could also have up to 3 manta illusions (rearming manta would spawn 2 more and only remove 1) which was neat

i thought wc3 dota made manta-refreshing not remove the old illusions so you could have infinite illusions

you needed a different manta style for each pair of illusions and it still works that way i think, according to the last thread i searched on the subject
