Their elite were so militarily-oriented because they had to be to hold down slave revolts since they were outnumbered some absurd amount by their very poorly treated slaves XD. | ||

tho hitler's image will probably be preserved more faithfully through future generations bcuz of how passing down information has changed also the mongol empire was mroe of a big deal in places other than western europe and the americas so itsl ike a different strain of cultural memory too idk idk what my point really is other than "this can all be explained by reasons that have nothing to do with principles" | ||

The systematic obliteration of people they did not want in their culture was only matched by the careful and meticulous records they kept of doing so. And Germany actively decided to never celebrate that part of their history and still does. | ||
