Hard to market it as anything else. In the sense that moba implicitly refers to a game that follows the basic gameplay structure of DotA or LoL, it's so unlike either that the comparison simply doesn't do Blizzard any favors. Whether intentionally or not ( and if it's intentional, I think Blizzard's marketing department is retarded), the only thing the "moba" moniker does is set up HotS in competition with DotA and LoL--which IMO can only really serve to lose them customers. I mean someone at Blizzard let them release two games with the same acronym i still can't believe that was a thing lol. i know that LotV is coming out this year but its been like a year where they had too titles like that I blame focus testing and people in marketing. You know there were people at Blizzard who were as pissed at you are.

regardless of the game itself, the two biggest problems with hots imo is that it has a business model that's about as p2w as LoL in a 8 year old engine designed primarily for 1v1 that has horrific netcode and lacks a number of key platform features

Actually kupo is probably talking about Bnet 2.0 because SC2 is five years old.

How does a game actually get a 6.5 from ibn, I didn't think it was possible for them to give Lee than an 8
|
They have to do drafting in a third party website because the game doesn't support it lol

how the fuck does blizzard ship a moba that they want to be played competitively without a way to fucking pick and ban heroes in game
It's kind of ridiculous how much of the stuff surrounding the actual game of Dota we take for granted

there's a pick ban mode in the game.
