The real problem is the review is that it has to have a score and people love scores more than reading reviews. I would be willing to bet most of the people arguing against the review didn't even read it, they just take ques from other peoples complaints.

TBH, it's a problem Blizzard brought on themselves by marketing that game as a moba in the first place, when doing so is more or less shooting themselves in the foot.
If you market the game as a moba, of course they're going to get someone who's played a shitton of mobas to review it, and people are going to compare it to other mobas when it doesn't make all that much sense to from a gameplay perspective.

The game is 100% a moba though. Hard to market it as anything else.

Whether intentionally or not (and if it's intentional, I think Blizzard's marketing department is retarded), the only thing the "moba" moniker does is set up HotS in competition with DotA and LoL--which IMO can only really serve to lose them customers.

I mean someone at Blizzard let them release two games with the same acronym

The game started development as Blizzard DOTA... It's quite obvious they weren't trying to avoid being lumped in the same basket as other mobas.
It moved further and further away from dota at every opportunity but it's not like they could avoid the comparions. Games far less like Dota are compared to them all the time.

They also realized a bit late that Blizzard AllStars had a few problems when people began making acronyms for it. Balls
