But thanks for being encouraging, you are so helpful in our efforts to revive this site. Without you we would be nothing of course. You didn't but by throwing out the 50k figure you make it more or less known that this is a figure that represents 'success'. So then you'd conclude that 50k is a good, successful news article, meaning most of LD news are not 'successful', or you're holding Gosi to a higher standard by referencing such a large number, because even under 50k can be considered 'successful'. [/semi-troll off]
You don't get encouragement and positivity by default. Those things are earned as administrators earn the respect of it's users. You (figuratively as an admin) in my eyes, haven't done that. We're coming up on the 1 year anniversary of this sites official launch and what if anything stands out to you from an engaging experience created by the LD staff? We're nearly 6 months out from the infamous "This Site Sucks (Rant)" thread that wasn't even comprised by the 'negative irc community mongrols', it was organic from the LD community. What has changed in those 6 months? What promises from the staff side have come to fruition? What improvements behind the scenes over these last 6 months will materialize into something that is worth getting excited about?
Bottom line is you seem to be 'in charge' around here, Heyoka seems to be doing HOTS and it seems most administration stuff is between you and Julmust (just guessing on activity) so you're going to bear the brunt of the criticism, trolls, flames and everything in between. If you think the quality of staff/user content, features, etc., are good, then we're in disagreement. Going by conversations I've had privately with staff that I'm friends with, I don't see much optimism behind the scenes and the lack of leadership, guidance or direction doesn't seem to be something that is likely to improve. Perhaps I'm being misled, it's hard to tell, seems realistic based on what I can verify myself by just following the site on the surface.
Real talk is that as a liquid fanboy this site pains me. LD is a massive disappointment and a squandered opportunity. I know what TL was to the BW / SC2 community and I know what it could have been to dota, with or without a pro team. The possibilities were endless when this site launched but instead of pushing the envelope, it's become stagnant, or worse, it's deteriorated. Baby steps and slightly more active tournament recaps aren't going to make this site great. Perhaps LD is a in a good spot for the bigwigs, low cost, decent traffic, growing userbase (?) but as a user and TL fanboy, it's underwhelming at best.
edit; yeah, I know, nice timing lezlzolz, this conversation was hours ago but I got called into a meeting at work zzzzzzzzzzz. ;_;

more flaming the management in general then any individual emu just happens to be an admin i dont think crms is singling him out

right now julmust and emu are motivated to run liquiddota, and ver is going to be writing regular articles, theres other contributors such as omni, icystorage, torte, eieio are stepping it up, id say the staff is in a better spot than it has been in some time, but its still far from where it ideally would be and can use all the help it can get
was the last official statement I received regarding the site direction

kupo with that transparency.
I'm also extra salty right now because I'm buying a house and that shit is stressful as fuK. Gotta redirect my frustration at LD.

I am also waiting for torte to step up and save the site though

LD probably isn't 1337 enough. :{

That sucks, buying a house is a nightmare. Take no shit from your agent or the banks attorney.

Also, quick PSA: Work on your credit kids, your parents aren't lying, lenders treat you like a god if you have a good credit score.
|
Second PSA on house buying: Be picky about your real estate agent. That field has a LOW barrier to entry and they only make money when you close and that money comes from the lender. And beware of easements.

having to borrow money to borrow more money is weird
