That was half the beauty of BW casting, information wasn't so easily accessed and not every tournament had an overlay that displayed resources and supply so you had to actually pay attention to the game and be constantly active as casters and observers to get the full picture. If they didn't have the overlays it made it a lot more fun when you didn't know how behind a player was so it was appropriate to hype it up because there was uncertainty if the player was really behind or equal. In SC2 you can clearly see 50 supply vs 90 so the 50 supply guy is fucked.
Its is one of the many reasons why I stopped watching except for specific players. But the community will never let them turn it off. Its why dota is more exciting, because there are more unknowns.

Not really, people actually dislike him. You just don't feel the need to express something like that against someone like Sheever or Maut that often. People just can't easily understand why other people enjoy things they dislike.

artosis casting was god tier because he was able to convince people to believe in his "strategic insight" while being wrong 70% of the time. The curse is just a manifestation of his actual insight in the real world and his ability to understand the game as opposed to anything else.
The closest thing to that in Dota2 would be like something Draskyl who still believes that the dota he casts works the same way as his 5k pubs (though it may well be true looking at the teams going to this dreamleague)

honestly for the lack of game sense, he does seem to know a majority of the spells and he can do a heck of a play by play when there's a lot going on. and ofc he has a nice voice to listen to.
that said, he could stand to play the game a little more so he doesn't sound retarded when he tries to reason out why something went the way it did.
