i literally went to a store, saw a sick-ass 4K monitor on demo, was like "sweet lemme check this out" touched the mouse and was instantly shocked by how awful it was. It took me a few seconds to realize that it was being hdmi 1.4 driven so 30hz so fukcing disaster
u dont notice as much when u don't really have a cursor and/or are stuck to joystick controls I guess.
Well also how noticeable framerate differences are depends on the amount of actual movement. Even 10 fps can look smooth if the amount of motion involved is small enough. Most movie theaters are like 24 FPS, and it's not like that ever bothers anybody because most movies have relatively slow/smooth movements of the objects being perceived. It's the same for a lot of games too, though it depends on the kinds of games you play.
Mouse+keyboard vs. gamepad controls contributes to that though because generally mouse/keyboard generally allows for faster/more sudden movements so it's more likely for you to get rapid changes in perspective that look choppy at low frame rates.

Presence/absence of an object is much easier to detect than "choppy" movement though. LIke in old films, the actual movement can look relatively fluid but a dust speck on a single frame of the film can be really jarring.

he is just annoyed that everyone is saying he is ditching Dota. It didn't help when ESEX tweeted that they were just stating facts. In the end this drama is so meaningless by Tobi standards, he can do so much more.

Yeah, but I think the idea is, why turn a serious or a personal matter into a satire. It's probably just me, but I agreed with Tobi's comment and I find making a joke out of it to be an attempt at discrediting it as a non-issue.

the main issue of trying to have a "serious discussion" about a "community problem" is that the people discussing things "seriously" have very little influence over the "problem" so it's just all impotent discussion in the end

but yeah, if you cant notice the difference between 120hz and 60hz monitors, you are someone that doesn't care about the difference..it's not that the difference isn't noticeable.
another thing I don't understand is why people whip out their dicks and say "yeah you know my computer can handle 300fps" but they don't have a monitor that can actually display that framerate.
