But seriously, it's starting to irritate me now with these delays. Would be an amazing way to cap off 2020 if Cyberpunk with its torrent of hype built all the way from 2013 was just "okay" or a buggy mess on par with Bethesda releases or ME: Andromeda despite eight months of delays.

It was a great success then! Now it's a dead forum with a bunch of old timer circle-jerking each other with their inside jokes. God forbid anyone new ever came to the site. Bravo.

I doubt the mods and volunteers of the forum could have done anything to prevent this situation without fiancial support from above. The old "This site sucks" blog had a bunch of valid feedback in 2014 or so, and nothing really changed for a hundered different reasons. So yeah, forum is just this thread and some tournament threads. The calendar and liquipedia are top notch though.

I've honestly been unable to follow pro games ever since neutral items were released. Way too dumb, still waiting for them to get removed. WC3:R was a theoretical way for RTS to grow again but well, blizz shat the bed so hard on that. What's liquid's big focus now, CS:GO?

All of them, bring in the league guys and their 53 coaches as well to get blasted by forum members for playing the wrong game. EDIT: What I said jokingly seems to be reality in some form. Although the current team has not the same following as the old one, and the conent would fall on deaf ears on this site since it's been dead for plenty of years and nobody from this thread plays dota2 seriously anymore, content like these blogs from teamliquiddotnet already exsists. It's just never mentioned on this site.

LD was much bigger 5-7 years ago, but people inevitably move on with life, and Dota is far too dependant on TI hype to sustain interest on the forum, while also facing dwindling support and viewership. I don't know if it's really a quality content problem because I remember the biggest spikes in LD's active users arriving from TI, Aui blogs or Beesa drama, not from any detailed strategy guides or interviews produced by the staff or guest writers. I think the staff here do good work with what they have, honestly. Maybe it's a problem with how forums have become an outdated medium. It's far more common to discuss esports and video games on Reddit and Discord now, while forums haven't caught on with the younger generation. Any forum that creates attention-grabbing content like a good interview or article gets linked, reposted and discussed on Reddit, rather than the forum itself. I think of the problems facing forums just like the ones that newspapers are facing today, with content aggregators and social media taking the wind away from a medium that's becoming increasingly irrelevant over time.
