Fall Guys but you can play in browser through Facebook and can go back and screenshot/clip moments that were outrageous and post on your wall, and when you die you're placed in some nearby stands where you can react with various emoticons such as the 'smiley face' or the 'cheering face' and discuss how riveting the match has been through a Facebook chat.

Not really. The US has an insane death count, and he just got COVID. If people had been saying "Look at france, they handled it perfectly" for the last 7 months then it might matter, but it's more been "the US had the worst response of any first world country", which still remains true. The truth is the average american voter has issues finding europe on a map and doesn't really care about it.

As much as I grew tired of SC2 and lost sight of it years ago, you can't forget the imprint it left on the foundation of modern esports by pioneering the kind of tournament streaming and POV player streams we see everywhere now. Twitch was founded because Justin Kan wanted to see SC2 tourneys, and being able to view IdrA or TLO stream their ladder games was really cool and fresh for the time. A decent bunch of the people we see from Dota and LoL - or esports in general - can usually trace the start of their interest and careers from SC2 and/or BW.

SC2 isn't dead yet, but it was an inevitable fate for a genre that's basically on life support and being owned a company that is increasingly transitioning to a different business model.

Kind of incredible the impact its had. I bet it's the last even somewhat popular RTS we see for a loooooooong time.

I wonder how people feel about the "final" state of balance. I have no idea what the game is even like now really.

I couldn't imagine todays youth learning a game like broodwar. Also I'm curious where the age cut off point is for people that remember the sc2 days lol. I feel like we're all boomers at this point

Sometimes still wonder what would have happened if Blizz had handled SC2 differently - like is there a world where it doesn't drop off in popularity / takes off in Korea and ESPORTS is all different.

But idk, honestly loved Wings (as a player and a viewer) despite its flaws.

I'll always remember the Haypro Bonjovi MLG run.

(...and staying up to watch GSL, and watching qxc's insane streams, and SOTG, and hitting masters, and...)
