There's been a lot of revolution in the air lately with Hong Kong, Lebanon, Catalonia, Chile and Ecuador. Anyways, stay safe and alert Faru. On a lighter note I finished Disco Elysium and found I didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I would. Not for lack of combat, but for more mechanical and plot progression elements. Maybe I'll expand on the thoughts in a blog post. For now I'll say it's a half off sale, not worth for C$45.

Well I feel silly and naïve now after posting that the metro price increase being cancelled would hopefully ease tensions. It's far more complicated as a general affordability crisis, inequality and corruption problem endemic within the government.

There's kind of a "you can retry" mentality for a lot of mods with regards to PBU - basically they get a chance to start over and if their behavior has notably improved it gets to slide (though they still have to give up their old name). They have a lot less leeway than a normal new user though (basically a warn is a temp ban and any tempban is an instaban for their first year or so of existence) Granted, some period of time has to pass (creating one within the next day or so usually gets hit with just another ban). But it's why a temp ban dodge account is treated harsher than a PBU on a new account. Also, if they admit to being that old user, ON that name, it's usually a ban, as the punishment was being forced to give up the account. (I should say "identity" rather than account here, as any account name that indicates who you were gets banned. It has be able to be plausibly deniable from the average user). Also varies according to the PBU, some are just "no, never" but that's usually for people who were spam bots or actively harassed mods.

Generally I'm of the opinion that I don't want to restrict anybody from taking part in conversation on these forums. I'll temp ban people for a series of what I'd consider to be inappropriate posts but if you just make one or two I'll probably let it slide. For PBU's it's sort of the same thing, if you aren't a dick and don't bring attention to yourself I won't really care but most PBU's immediately go back to being shitty people so they get the hammer. The ones who put their former ID in their name just make it easier xD
