If you want to kill someone that way you have to catch two people in a awesome vacuum that traps them close together and then cast ion shell on one of them.

Or just have a good Enigma on your team

Ion shell, vacuum, enigma black hole is one of the easiest team wipes in the game.

It's not that hard to kill people solely with Ion Shell early in the game. Depends on heroes you are up against & skill level of players. Ion shell is underestimated a lot at lower levels. Even at high level games you will see people underestimate the power of it and look like fools when they die to it.

Tobi Wan Kenobi: Valve have told me that they do not want media there during the group stage, this includes shoutcasters so my current plans are:

August 27th - 28th

Stream as many group stage matches as possible from the joinDOTA studio (this will probably be done with me casting off DOTA TV as I assume they will be running a LAN network at valve -- this is of course is my assumption)

August 29th

Travel to Seattle

August 31st - 2nd September

Cast the event live in the USA, and yes I will be in the same room as the players but I believe the players will be in a booth just like last year (maybe a little more sound proof this time around).

This is the way Valve wanted to do it, so unless they change their mind it will remain like this.

I assume he means he doesn't want media at the actual event, but it will still all be covered via stream.

Again why doesn't valve allow media at the event?

Valve have told me that they do not want media there during the group stage

Enable cheats in a practice game with bots disabled.

My guess is that they have the venue only for the playoffs, so they don't have enough space for everyone. I think I understand the reasoning, but it doesn't make sense to me.

My guess is that they'll have someone around to do some coverage of the groupstage, maybe something like the coach at DH.

The only good thing I saw on that post is the LAN network thing. Fuck yes.

True that makes sense. As for LAN I will not use it but I guess this will be important for china.

Holy fuck just played the most epic game of my life as jugger.

Disruptor, WR, ursa, qop, jug(me) vs weaver, kotl, NA, Witch doctor, sand king

We got raxed top, and ended with no fountain towers while they had a weaver with 2 rapiers. Somehow we managed to kill weaver and get the rapiers, only to donate 1 rapier back a minute later. Then we got WD, nyx and sand king, so we pushed mid while kotl tped on top and almost got your fountain, but I managed to tp back and stop him. After that we won one more team fight mid and managed to push and get fountain

TL;DR - 70 minutes, 2 rapiers, raxxed top with no fountain towers and we managed to comeback. This is why I love dota.

LoH is amazing, but wr is his signature hero. Best is kind of a weird thing for a team like navi. Dendi plays a lot of high apm heroes really well, but LoH pulls off some big plays too. I think the breaking point for navi is xboct. If he has a good game the enemy stands no chance. Dendi and loh make flashy plays but to be honest the team's fundamentals usually win them games more.

Navi doesn't seem to use Windrunner offlane that much. Dendi's played solo mid WR a few notable times. Navi prefers darkseer offlane if they can get it, earlier in the year they preferred to run enigma danger lane, and these days they're running aggressive trilane or sylla.

So calling windrunner LoH's signature hero seems less valid than calling WR most other team's off laner's signature hero. Light of heavens most impressive offlane performances are some of his spring dark seer games, when he'd go beyond godlike and kept diving like crazy.

LOH used to play a lot of offlane WR months ago, but it's usually Dendi now on WR mid, with LOH mostly on DS/Sylla offlane

Ok so this is a serious issue that i want to state out. It has been discussed over and over on dev forum and i think that place has pretty much turn into BNet forum by now so i wanted to bring the discussion here.

Its about the current report system. Apparently if you get around 7-10 reports on you in a short period of time, you will be put into low priority queue for 6(?) hours. Now this is extremely easy to abuse. If you try to play on EU and unlucky got a game full of russian, chance is 9 out of 10 the entire losing team will report each other. This was what happened 1 month ago since they reduce the amount of reported needed from what ever to 10. This is also a reason why you see a notification when the person you report got put into low priority poll. Now i didnt care at first, but recently this system has been abused to the extreme. If you some how got matched with a stack team, russian, chance are if you lose the game, you will be in low piority queue. Its even to the point that people just start reporting on players they hate, players who played bad unintentionally(new, bad players etc). I just got a game where people on my team just report me for random alchemist and didnt repick. Like seriously, this isnt what the report system meant to be used for. We need better ideas for a new system that you could punish flamer, afker, abuser, not to discouraging new players from playing the game.

TLDR: the report->low queue system needs to go!

Actually, I have a pretty good idea about how to revamp the report system, but alas, it's extremely manpower intensive. Ultimately, reports have to be sorted through manually, which is a problem when there are millions of games, churning out a crap ton of reports, most of which are false positives.
