By definition that cannot be true in a multiplayer game, specially not a card game. If you play Gods Will Be Watching perfectly, you will easily complete the game without dying once. And I was just trying to show the amount of rng the game has and I thought many people knew hearthstone, I know it's not the best comparison.

And lets be clear, I played started Dark Souls over GWBW. The problem with the game is not the difficulty, but the risk to reward ratio.

Perfectly may be too strong of a word, but its still a silly comparison. Card game have RNG, they should have, be it Hearthstone, Magic or Poker. Single player games dont need that. So people will obviously compare it to their experiences in single player games.

You either like that kind of stuff or you don't. Personally, I loved that. If you don't like it that's fine, but I don't see how reviewers can claim that it's an objective negative, claim that it's bad game design and give the game a bad rating because of it.

Reviews are peoples personal experiences and enjoyment of the game and a guide for people future purchasing decisions. Reviewers build up a level of trust with their given audience and that audience bases their purchases on those review. If they found parts to be frustrating or not enjoyable, they should tell people that. There are reviewers that I take with a grain of salt, but I never want them to give a game a high score that they didn't enjoy. GWBW has some good points, but there is a reason they put in that quick patch with the other modes and its because people really didn't like how brutal the game was.

Rant about the second highest rated steam review has some spoilers: + Show Spoiler + "Trial and error elements are also at play in the same chapter, where the pattern of torture is easy to circumvent if you know in advance what is coming but you'd only know that through hindsight and past failures." Again... it's a puzzle, but this guy is expecting to beat it coming into it blind for the first try. The game is not meant to be beat on the first try. "Chapter 3 has shifting goalposts - devised a plan around what you were told at the start of the mission? Too bad chump! We've got more work to do! Again, only hindsight would allow you to plan for the "real" goalposts" Yes. Except if you pay attention to the dialogue you would know there are two phases to finding the cure. "Chapter 5 is purely luck! Find a hidden base, that is in a randomised location each time!" That's just wrong. The game tells you exactly which direction the base is (south-west, for example) and after each step you can check if you're getting closer and further away. This guy's bad at the game, doesn't understand that GWBW is a puzzle game, but he's making it sound like these are objective flaws with the game.

Also, I looked that the meta critic scores and most of them were between 60-70, which sounds about right. A lot of them pointed out the effort/reward ratio and that the game was to punishing for the amount of time spent. Can anyone explain the "basic income" idea? It's apparently a concept that all people should be given enough money to live just because they exist. It should free people to do whatever they want and apparently society as a whole is supposed to benefit greatly from that, because people who do what they want to do contribute to it more or something. Reddit is all over that stuff, but I don't really get it. Can someone explain?

Waiters should be paid more and remove the whole system of tipping. I fucking hate tipping and find it a vicious circle of pandering both on a societal level and for waiters having to succumb to because the whole industry underpays.

And just give everyone a set amount regardless of what the person has/makes. It generally seen more as way to reduce the complexity of everything and not to give everyone the chance of doing what they want to do
