I remember back in the days of SC2 when I was upset I couldn't pick my server. After playing Dota, I think that might have been the thing Blizzard got right and improved over time. The language issue aside, some the number of players who DC and complain about lag during my games are amazing. And then I see they are connecting across like three regions or my ping to their server is like 300-800. | ||

And second of all, games are like movies now. They make them for all types of people. They have Summer movie block busters like Tomb Raider, Gears and Uncharted. They have hipster indy games like Limbo, Thomas was Alone and Depression Quest. They have music games like Rockband and Audio Surf. Story driven games like Wolf Among US, Walking Dead. If you don't like a game, sweet, there are other games out there. If you question why people like a specific game, you are just like the guy who says "why do you listen to country/classical/rap/rock/deathmetal/electronic/poka/industrial musical? That music is so bad and let me tell you why." Or people who hate cheese cake. And there is a sub-set of the gaming world that are crazy and play Dota and Dark Souls. And there are people who play Eve, and they also admit they are crazy. | ||

Hell even darksiders does it right too with you being able to finish off some of the trash mobs with QTE if they're sufficiently low on health. But if a shit ton of the game is just "Press X to clear this event!" it is just incredibly lame and the opposite of fun  QTE isn't bad, QTE games are imho. | ||
