I mean they were THIIIIIIS close to breaking up to some extent last year.
The interesting part is who stays together and who gets to be Na'Vi lol.
I'm a bit afraid we'd see Dendi + XBOCT on one side and Puppey + KKY on the other. I'd assume management would keep the fan-favourite dendi but that feels like a lose-lose split regardless. Not that Dendi is the kind of player who gets too involved in internal politics, just that I think he'd play with XBOCT over anybody else given the choice.
All idle speculation of course.

i think so too. it certainly looks like puppey and kuroky will stay together

I can't see Puppy or Dendi leaving. They are both to popular and valuable to the team, and I can see them going through hell and high water to keep them. Maybe xboct of he gets really grump or goes potato, but only then. But I can't see them cutting more than 1 player. That just sounds like a way to lose a lot of events directly after TI4

It's not about "cutting a player" or "people leaving" its about (most likely) XBOX vs KKY bad blood leading to the team splitting with KKY and PPY going one way and XBOX (likely + Dendi) going the other, and management having to choose which to keep (Dendi is simply worth too much to give up, period). It's possible that Puppey chooses Dendi + Xbox over his bromance with KKY but i'd be somewhat surprised.
This is hypothetical, its definitely possible that it's all behind them etc but even then, It's hard to imagine them accepting like 8-10th place or w/e and just keeping playing with the same roster. And being na'vi, I'd be very surprised if they made it to top-6 or so and didn't make it to the finals really. So 3/4/5 seems unlikely.
Again, personal opinion, I could be 100% off. It's interesting theory though.

Plus NaVi thrives on a crowd. They feed off it. And the crowd is going to be 15k people.
The crowd is going to be 15k people IF they make it to Key Arena. I can see them dropping out of Top8 easily this year (sry if someone posted that already)

well EG got a squad in US, one in nordic... time to conquer east ~~Russia~~ Europe...
Personally i hope PPY and KKY just leave and form their KS.int.retry... If TI5 is hosted in EU, CWM has no trouble visa + bamboe back from russia + 1 could make a pretty damn scary squad

Dendi and puppy are older guys and I don't think they are going to let personal drama get in the way of their paychecks. Their team is based in their home country and I don't know if anyone else has the budget to pick up half the team.
And I don't really subscribe to the whole "factions within a team" idea that reddit drama queens love. I'm sure there are issues, but people work those out of they are professional. People rarely go atomic and say to their boss "it's either me or them, pick!" And the storm out without anothe job lined up.

Bambo sux at dota and CWM will literally never be on a team long enough to get to TI barring qualifiers (I know he got there in the past, the scene has changed).
I feel like PPY/KKY/Misery/Pajkatt/+1 could be a sick team though.

I watched CWMs stream for about 5 minutes and I could feel the agression ozzing out of my screen. He was not happy with anyone or anything.
|
I'd be salty if I were him tho. He's been to internationals before, he was part of the KP group that got shafted their qualifier invite last year, all of whom except him are at TI this year, etc. Not that it isn't his fault, just that you can't blame him for being grumpy lol.
|
My exposure to CWM was mostly through stuff that was retweeted after they didn't get the invite to TI3. My memory of those tweets can be summed up with "damn, valve made the right call here. This kid is a clown."
I can feel a little bad for him, but he had the option to not be an ass hat after not getting an invite. By doing so, you pretty much seal the deal on never getting an invite.

Estonia != Ukraine
But it is not about drama, it's about results. I don't believe they are statisfied with their current result. Unless the TI goes great for them, they will split. They have players that want to be the best, and they cant be the best in this line-up, it's that simple.
It doesn't matter that have have over 2k monthly salary, for some people, what matters is winning, and they aren't doing it right now.

friday night i was quite drunk, I woke up the following morning and noticed that my browser was opened on cwm's stream. I might have watched it the previous night. I felt bad and violated.

Oh my bad, I thought Puppy was from Ukraine. I guess not. And paychecks matter if you have responsibilities and family's, which is a thing for a at least Dendi.
And it's all semantics at this point on why people would leave or stay. But I do believe that the era of quitting your current team and forming a new one to try and make it to TI the next year are almost over. It is a very risky thing to do and any seasoned player would know that. If they could be signed to another team they liked, maybe.
Edit:2.5k euros is close to what I make a year without OT and bonuses. You don't just walk away from that without a plan. And you think about it real hard if it's just over drama and shit that could be worked out be both getting a little hammered and putting on boxing gloves
2nd edit: fuck that is before prize money. Damn. He is doing well for himself if that is true.

P6, dota ain't like the NFL or NBA where a team signs a player.
In Dota, players make teams then look for sponsorship. Even teams with sponsorships function like that. Regardless of what press releases say, Liquid didn't boot mike/korok and hire qojqva/wts, the team pretty much disbanded and reformed with tc/fluff/bulba staying together and picking up wts/qojqva, which got rubberstamped by liquid management. Fluff's situation was one of the very few ones where management steps in and messes with team composition directly.
And lets be real teams and sponsors would be falling over themselves trying to offer dendi 2.5k Euro/month if they thought they could get him.

We went straight through in one day and it was like 18 hours. Then seattle is something like 2-4 hours from van?

I don't know, I have never seen an EG player poached by another team to date. I'm sure it could happen with someone like Dendi.(EG Dendi?, fuck Garfield would love that).
And I know it's not like the NFL and NBA, but whe players start pulling down 40k a year plus prize money, the idea of a full disband doesn't not sound attractive.
This is all personal opinion, but if I were 26 and making 40k a year playing dota, I would try hard to keep that going. And if one of my team mates said "we can make our own team and win next year" I would be like "that's cool, I got all these sweet bills that I need to pay in that time, so good luck with that."
