My (super biased) Chinese DotA team power rank (based on DotA 1 performance, not DotA 2).

1) DK
2) LGD
3) iG
4) WE
5) Tongfu

CLC for all intents and purposes doesn't exist because EHOME sort of wrecked their roster. EHOME not listed because they don't play DotA 1. Getting to practice 100% DotA 2 does a lot for their practicing efficiency though, so in DotA 2, they are close to DK. For DotA 2, I'd probably put Tongfu up 2 slots (haven't seen them or iG play enough DotA 2 to say exactly which of the two are better).

Panda got disbanded after some contract issues. 3 ex-Panda players are now playing for Tongfu (Sansheng, Hao, Mu). WE is still a decent, though VERY inconsistent, team. They won't be a force in DotA 2 for a while because WE only just started having their DotA 1 team play DotA 2.

For DotA1 Tongfu is far ahead of WE atm. iG is around Tongfu for now or worse because they're just playing bad now. NA is coming onto the scene as well.

I think we're gonna see more "pinoy" in China.

Ehome was a must invite imo since their organization placed second last year; just the possibility of a finals rematch is worth giving them the slot.

iG vs for.love in SW7

http://www.twitch.tv/cinco__es

* watching OSL at the same time

So is this ForLove a real competitor, or was iG just messing up the first game?

How do the Chinese teams rate leshrac or tide? Are TC and siren high priority picks? Why? It's kinda hard to find anything relating to the cn scene, but I'm really interested to see what kind of stuff they are bringing to the international.

iG messed up the first game badly, ForLove is a 3rd tier chinese team but iG has to focus on 2 games while ForLove just 1. Naga is not a conventional pick but she works sometimes for teams that like to force teamfights on teams with mediocre teamfight. TC is a pretty well known pick now but uncommon against a lot of lineups. Leshrac is pretty decently rated in Dota1 (Dota2 he is a stronger pick), similar to Tide.

iG has a very good possibility of losing the 3rd game, but TV broadcast schedule killed the stream lol

Why do the Chinese keep copying Pinoy picks? First it was DK, Slardar solo mid bottle-crow. Now it's Naga Siren?

Hard to say with WE. The problem is that they're always so damn inconsistent, so I'm hesitant to place them too low simply because I know they're *capable* of being really good. Also, I'm biased towards them.

And yeah, I forgot about iG's abysmal showing in the Starswar qualifiers. I'd shift them down for that.

EDIT: NA is LoH minus xiaoguai and ksssssss right?

Damn, the truth is revealed. My plan was to secretly assemble a Pinoy team in NA dropping hints about Pinoys on TL to see who would bite instead of asking "Are you Pinoy, rabidch?". Then we would use super advanced Pinoy strats to take NA/EU by storm and seize the Wild Card (West) spot for the International.

Dk isn't pinoy at all, it was used by Chinese teams sporadically throughout 2011. And the issue of copying pinoy picks is just an extension of Chinese willingness to take an improve upon strats that look promising. Don't forget that it was dts that first showed china that sillybear is pretty strong

Oh and WE is like fantasy, they'll do well for a bit everytime 820 or 2009 comes up with something silly and technical that works well but in terms I standard play they're about as good as tongfu and ig and weaker than lgd and dk. Na is a dark horse team with potential but it's hard to discern how much of their results is them being good and how much is their opponents underperforming

probably because you don't watch enough chinese dota with HIGH LEVEL TROLL COMMENTARY

there have been great moments where it was like:
Game3 of WE Vs DK, 2009 (also commentating the tourny) comes back after the break and goes "I suggested to them that they pick this, this, and that." WE picks those exact heroes. Then 2009 goes: now WE should pick stuff that obviously go with those, WE picks something completely stupid, everybody facepalms, WE loses.
When in doubt, just believe in yourself and press buttons
