What would you build for a 6 slot Tiny when you needed to take down a fat Timbersaw real quick? I watched a VOD yesterday (I forget right now what game it was, either a Fnatic vs Cloud9 one or one of them newer Chinese teams in WPC Ace) and I felt that the Tiny couldn't kill the Timber even when 6 slotted because it was too tanky and mobile. I'll try to find the game, but in the meantime, IIRC, this was the item build:
Phase Aghs AC Manta Crit Aegis
Was thinking for the last slot (when aegis expires), you'd have quite a few options: BKB for sustained fighting is the way to go I think, but if you needed really fast DPS, do you go Mjol? Or for lockdown, do you go Abyssal or Hex? That game really had me thinking about late game item pickups on carries. Like, in the recent Navi vs PR game, I felt that Abyssal on Spectre was actually wrong, but I wasn't too sure what other item was better. Skadi? Crit? Manta? Diffusal?
Thanks GD

Ah yeah, but as to the second point about late-game item decisions, maybe GD can help? A lot of the games I've been watching recently (that go late) seem to contradict each other. In one game, a lategame Linkens is picked up to counter Hex, which seems logical until you watch the teamfight and the carry simply does not have enough DPS (and thus should've picked up a Daedalus or MKB or Abys).
As things progress to the lategame, people always say that the item choices are situational. I find however that except for a few heroes, damage items with good positioning always seem to be better than items that merely increase survivability but not DPS. I don't play carry myself very often (always solomid tempo controller, solomid doto best doto).
An example of this would be qojva's (sp?) storm vs Dog in their game 1. He went Shiva's instead of Hex, then Bloodstone instead of Hex. I'm not normally second guessing players, but that seemed weird when you had a Radiance Naga on the other side. Isn't a real quick hex the better way to counter that splitpush? It shouldn't have reached a baserace then (and that AC pickup was really weird to me - the Lycan was a natural AC carrier, and a level 3 Necro would've helped the baserace more than the AC I think)

You avoid fights and force tower trades which Tiny will always win.

how can hex counter the splitpush? hex is good during teamfights to shut down the carry, but as far as splitpush goes, hex does nothing, cause you are not near them when they start splitpushing. also man am i playing like crap... theres no or what... but ill save the rest for the qq thread

I guess so, but at that point the instakill of an illusion still seemed better than a shiva's.

Atleast you can use it with other language pack. It feels like a subtitute for a custom announcer when I use it with Korean dubpack.

A third bfury would have been silly, the only other options were bkb/mkb. We ended up losing because we had a hard time breaking base. We needed to win a fight and lose very little, but most fights in the game were close and then the losing team would just mass bb. http://dotabuff.com/matches/593414969Also, what is with dotabuff's hero damage? I checked in console after the game and I remember ember had 90k while this says 33. I have come to the conclusion that Dotabuff doesn't register cleave damage at all. It also doesn't register Legion Commandress' regeneration boost as heal.
It gets very obvious when you play a lot of Sven and wreck shit and according to dotabuff are only average damage output.

Tony illusions are fucking strong I'l ltell you and the atk / movement speed never hurts any melee carry that needs attack speed

I've only just started seriously playing again after a year of living in a house with an internet connection so bad I could not guarantee 45 continuous of connection to Steam. People have changed, man.

why is it so easy to win a 4v5? i'd imagine it'd be extremely hard since you are one man down.
