There's currently a bug in DotA 2 where he is properly stunned if there was no target that he would have hit--but if there is a target in range that his roll would have hit, he damages that target and teleports to their location even if he is stunned. I think I am with everyone on the idea that we should be able to stun his ass on the way in to prevent the damage. Not every single one of this skills needs to be "click on thing to make go with minimal cast animation".

How is it in WC3 ? Can he be targeted while rolling ?

I think he needs range nerfs or scaling range on his skills. 1400 geomagnetic grip at level 1 is a joke. Boulder smashed units ignoring terrain is problematic, it is yet another free escape and requires no good positioning if used to push people in towers.
I expect that he will get overall a lot of nerfs in the next few patches.
Same old... The hero just got impletmented into the game, maybe wait till you get used to playing against him before rushing to conclusions. He's a pain in the ass early game. He has a ridiculous synergy with himself, and he is actually quite a stupid hero. On the other hand, he scales soooooooooooooooooo bad. He hits his peak at lvl3, do not even ask him to snowball. His ult is nice and all, but in the end, if there is some control and you can burst him down quickly, it's just a poor's man poison nova. Two of his spells do next to no damage and the third own basically means that there can be no following autoattack (he either throws his victim out of range, or he has to stop to be able to send the stone properly). The only game I played where he really annoyed us during laning phase (and we fucked up mostly because we didn't really know him well enough), he proceded to completely fail to carry his team even though we were at a huuuuudge disadvantage.
I think he is much better played as a 4th position than a solo. xp just doesn't matter to him.

Almost all Icefrog heroes are created way too strong and not way too weak and have to get nerfed. While there's definitely always some hype around new heroes and being unused to playing against them, with Icefrog he actually does make everything too strong at release (probably intentionally). Anyone who's been playing DotA 1 for a long time can give you a laundry list of heroes that were batshit broken when they came out.
There's nothing wrong with it--it's how Icefrog designs the game, but we should be clear about it.

Again, the best comparison here is probably Pudge. Giving him 6/7 fast is strong simply because if he has a level advantage he solo kills anyone, so while he doesn't scale that well, the map pressure he gives early from solo levels is disgusting and makes it worth it. 1400 range Rock->Grip->Roll->Smash is the equivalent of a Pudge Hook that's impossible to miss.
Also, he does not hit his peak at level 3. Even though Roll does't scale damage, 4s CD means it's basically impossible to run because you're slowed 50% of the time.

Heck, even when Wisp was literally banned/picked every game, he was always in the bottom 5-10 heroes on Dotabuff. That's one example amongst many.
Basically, win rates on Dotabuff are kind of meaningless for balance.

my point was no hero is actually imbalanced thats in the game right now 8) please think about it a little bit

Except Elder Titan is in the game. In CM, even.
(I really don't get what joke you're trying to make to be honest.)

well broodmother is not neccessarily imbalanced but simply not a hero
and earthspirit is op end over theres not even a discussion needed
also theres only a few maybe 15~20 heroes in the game that are actually well balanced

I understand this attitude and I think it's a good one when playing the game.
But at the same time I simply cannot say I want Phoenix and Arc Warden to be ported yet.

Yep. Denying reality can be helpful for self improvement and whatnot, but it's still denying reality and probably isn't helping you all that much when you're just posting on a forum.
Dota 2 is not perfectly balanced; some heroes are simply better than others. Disagreeing with that makes you simply wrong.

well i guess its a good thing then that the majority opinion often becomes reality in this game so woohoo earth spirit nerfs soon whats the new thing that people will find to bitch about

What is phoenix like now anyways? I remember him being positively stupid but the sunray being the least of the problems. Like sure the first few times you got first blooded by it, the same way you got first blooded by boots first huskars who took spears lvl1, once you learned the hero it was fine. But even remotely competent usage of his ult just insta won team fights. And the stupid infinity range dive/disarm + nuke/heal made him into a great ganker to boot. Have they changed him a lot or is he still the same basic hero?

I'm never going to blame a loss on an OP hero.
But at the same time, when some of the best players to ever play the game re the hero when they get it because it's so broken that it's not fun for them to win with it*, you have to at least wonder if there's something there.
We haven't had to deal with this for the most part because release heroes haven't gone straight into DotA 2, but reailze that it IS the norm for Icefrog to release heroes that are just that broken. It's just how Icefrog designs heroes, and we get amazingly fun heroes out of it.
* (This doesn't apply to Kaolin, but for many players in high level Chinese DotA 1 pubs, there's effectively a gentleman's ban on Phoenix and Arc Warden where they will just instantly repick the hero because it's so easy to get wins that it's not fun).

i just dont enjoy reading 5 pages of people complaining about balance in their low level pub games when realistically they could just not suck and play better to win but thats never going to happen i concede

People saying Earth Spirit isnt OP remind me the people on this thread who were sayin Centaur with old stampede was fine.

I have never had a problem vs earth spirit or broodmother, but I still consider them broken.
