Necrobook gaming is where it's at. Every hero, every time. I should do this and see how it will affect my winrate.

Works a whole lot better when you're with a coordinated team than in solo queue

Why would you go drums on Slark? It's a great cost effective item for sure, but he's garbage at early fighting and drums isn't going to change that. Slark is great at being alone, be it farming, pushing or ganking. Drums is good for none of those things, really. It's ok, because Drums are a great items, but not ideal in most cases.

Could go both ways actually. Necro gaming harder to stop when you're with solo pubbers.

??? He's really good at early fighting. His strongest timing is his maxed nukes.

Drums+Treads lets you farm really fast and makes early fights survivable outside of the ultimate.

He has no hp, you can't get in. His nukes are great when you want to gank, but in an "even" fight, he just dies to 2 nukes. Combined with the fact that he needs to get in melee range to do anything, I don't think he's the hero you want in an early fight.

That's why you get treads and drums. He's definitely one of the better carries for early fighting.

Slark awesome for early fight especially with level advantage... That's where he thrives best actually. Level 10-11 Slark is the GG timing. maxed nukes, 1 level passive and ult is where he'll rip. In fact even earlier at Level 7 is good enough too. Maxed pounce and 1 level each on passive, pact and ult is already strong.

Slark's base Strength is actually quite good, it's just that his per-level stat gain is shit. He's essentially a hero with garbage stat growth balanced around a really good baseline (0 cast animation, modest baseline stats) and skills that would be OP on a hero with real stat gains. Consequently, your power peak is actually defined more by your skills because as the game goes longer, the practical effect of having only 1.8 Str gain and 1.5 Agi gain starts to stack up. If you don't snowball the game with your early fighting ability, it's not like the game gets easier from you having items, because your stat growths are still shit.

He's obviously a fast farmer, but if you're purely farming, you won't gain an advantage over a carry with a stronger lategame that buys farming items. The biggest thing about Slark's baseline farming ability being so high is that it enables him to farm as fast as farming carries while still buying fighting items and going to fights. If you don't go to those fights, you're not leveraging that advantage.

If you have solo exp with decent farm (treads, magic stick, pms, and lvl 7). You can pretty much kill anyone u want, given they dont have a escape mechanism. You dont need a "big item" to get kills. So drums in this situation would be godlike good.

I'd rather see hardcarry slark than a #1 mirana. That buff on slark ulti is no joke.

I guess that's one way to play Slark. It's just that if you build drums, you want to fight and you have to look for fights and almost his entire ultimate is wasted that way, you won't really use your imba regen that effectively, the vision detection isn't that useful. I think as a solo ganker the hero is much better utilized as a whole.

I'm definitely going to give it a shot, tho.

The passive component of Slark's ultimate is still useful this way, and it actually makes far more use of the active component to use it as a major teamfight cooldown that should be used to force fights whenever its up.

It is used, but not as much as when you're farming the jungle and ganking.

You still do those things with Treads+Drum. It's just that this gives you an item timing that matches your power peak as opposed to one that comes a couple minutes after. Treads+Drum Slark does't demand that you teamfight. It's just that Treads+Drum pretty much does everything better than Treads+Claymore, Treads+Shadow Amulet, or Treads+Oblivion Staff, and is expected to snowball a large enough advantage by the time those builds would finish completed items due to the strength of the combined Drums+maxed nukes timing.

That's the thing, tho. I don't think you match your power peak by looking for teamfights. Like if you buy a shadowblade, you can solo gank very effectively, and you will get kills you wouldn't otherwise get.

I guess it's too many intangibles, I can totally imagine a matchup where you want to teamfight with drums and matchups where you want to gank with a shadowblade.
