Is it intended that stealing Charge doesn't steak the ranks in Greater Bash though? Seems like an odd behavior if you consider how Spell Steal works with similar cases.

I feel that it is pretty stupid nowadays when I have introduced all of my friends to dota so that they are not completly clueless anymore. And after a couple of games I feel that I get matched according to my "true" skill level anyway. And it feels that the matchmaking system does a fine job of matching the stacks I play in according to our overall skill level even thou our indivual skill levels sometimes differ a lot.
Sure sometimes we face opponents who seem to have proffesional teamplay compared to us but thats part of playing the game and evolving as a group. #stopsmurfing i smurf because i practice mid on that account only and another to just have fun and not tryhard, smurfing is fun.

That's exactly how spell steal is supposed to work. You only get the spell you steal. Like, if you put one lvl 1 charge and don't lvl great bash, then it's working like you had no levels yes? rubick only gets what he steals.

But Ive seen a rubick and a spiritbreaker charge each other and it was the rubick that won. Is that based on cast time then or what?

Well he gets the level of lucent beam that Luna has when he steals eclipse...

You get the benefits from things like Krobs passive, Luna's beams, SF's souls. If another ability changes the ability you steal, Rubick's ability will also benefit from those changes. In most cases.

maybe it's something with the way the spells and abilities are applied? I mean, luna beams, sf souls, krobs passive directly impacts the given spell, but maybe the charge is applied after? I guess?

He actually does get Greater Bash in Dota 2, unless that was changed. Whether it is a "bug" or an intended change is hard to tell.
It was even patched into Dota 2, it didn't happen before, so I would definatelly lean towards intended.

So if SF casts requiem, and then rubick steals it after the cast is finished, does he only get a requiem at half souls? Also, if SF is in mid cast, does rubick steal requiem or raze? If he steals requiem, is it at full souls or half souls?

I'm fairly certain the last one who casted charge will win that war

Hmm, I thought it was just on Nether Strike, and not on Charge. I stand corrected.
On November 06 2013 10:22 GtC wrote: Well he gets the level of lucent beam that Luna has when he steals eclipse... The unofficial stance on the Gameplay Bugs forum right now is that the "intended" behavior is stealing the ranks of associated spells.
You don't actually steal Lucent Beam's rank in DotA 1 with Eclipse, but doing so in DotA 2 is currently considered intended.
