is sniper kind of like a weaker shadow fiend right now, in this metagame? i know before the nerf, SF was hardly picked because of easy gankability and low hp, something which sniper seems to share, as well as sniper being much more item dependent than sf? | ||

This was the last time sniper (legendary bro~) was used to any degree of success (Jan of this year) In a way yes, sniper can be seen as an extreme extension of the same weaknesses exhibited by shadow fiend and drow in that they are incredibly squishy and have essentially no escape mechanism, the main difference is the fact that SF and Drow become very strong in the midgame while sniper is even squisher and take even longer to get to a state by which it actually deals damage. The saddest thing is that even with all the items up, you need an insane level of teamfight execution because your team's goal becomes zoning and protecting the sniper in a teamfight. You end up having to pick things like VS and running multiple push staffs and sometimes even stuff like diffusal (to purge disables off sniper lul) just to make sure he doesn't get instagibed. He can be strong at turtling and slow formational play, but in the current meta full of stuff that just walks up to you and kill u (exemplified by Lycan and Panda), he's really unsuited. The youtube video of him working in that game is essentially a miracle that was caused by insane levels of teamwork executions and misplays by Panda. | ||
