Afaik, OD has the highest base armor of any ranged hero. Yup. He's .3 armor ahead of Storm. Nerfing that would likely go a long way. Then you could at least do damage to much. Right now he seems to just do more damage, take less damage and wins 1v1s. He just seems like the lowest risk of picks for mid. He's very high-risk unless you can ensure they don't pick Razor. What was his winrate against Razor again? 10% or something stupidly low like that in TI3?

An armor nerf and a fix of the other astral bug would put him in a pretty good place IMO. 5 base armor is just oppressive and makes him far too tank and difficult to gank.
If they made him easier to gank I think it would be fine. And wouldn't have to sacrifice his 1v1 strength.

I just don't like the fact that the pool of responses to him is so limited(aka, Razor). I just wish there were more options to deal with him than just one or two heroes.

Have we seen OD vs. Elder Titan now that he's in cm? How did that go?

Well, by design, he's always going to beat every int hero and every hero that relies on spells to lasthit. All that you'd introduce to the pool by removing his high base damage is a few ranged Agility heroes who can beat his post-nerf damage. Realistically speaking, this means you're only going to be seeing SF mid as the new counter to OD. Maybe Cent and Clinkz as well, but those are kind of a stretch.
Really, you just have to get rid of OD.

You'd still have a really good 1v1 laner, but one that isn't so boring, doesn't completely restrict a wide range of heroes, and doesn't stop your opponent from being able to cast anything. That would really remove what makes him strong, very unlike the frog to nerf a hero like that.

People are really overthinking how to change OD.
The hero got situational picks a couple versions back if thats what you want out of it. It's just that a couple buffs and DotA 2 bugs brought the hero to where it is today. Nothing some bug-fixes and a buff revert or two wouldn't handle. The hero can be pick-able without gutting it.

So i played 40th games in ixdl-o last night and got trial vouch into NEL today. I still have quite a long way to go but here are a few things you need to know about ixdl-o:
1/ Its good to play in games that have .min 1001. Rating starts at 1000. That means that by having a minimum requirement of 1001, you can somewhat guarantee to have people who know whats going on in your game. Quality assurance is always good when you are confident in your skill level.
2/ It is possible to just play support and still have a good record. In the 40 games i played, I think i only get to play core 5 times or less. You gona get flamed a shit ton though so general advice is to get yourself some thick skin. Muting is not really an option either because you will need chat(text/voice) for coordination.
3/ The hero tier list is generally as follow:
S-tier: Batrider Naga OD Visage LoA A-tier: Weaver Razor Bane Jakiro Clock B-tier: Bara TC Timber Nyx Darkseer Furion
and after that its the circle on which mid counter which mid, which carry is best in which line up. Sometime you will see strange heroes that goes into the top 4 bans so the S-tiers could be exploited and picked later on. Heroes that require high coordination are often skipped out (chen/wisp). Sometime you will get a retarded captain(like me) who wana try new shit and pick experimental heroes such as Medusa, Centaur, Slark, Undying...
4/ Try to communicate with the team/drafter on what could you play, avoid blind assumptions. One of the biggest problem with new players is that they are often left with heroes they are not comfortable with. The usage of 'dip' or 'request' work better the earlier in the draft you said it. Its also recommended that you ask your team so that you could play a specific role and choose your own hero, keep it mind however that most of the time the 3 cores will be played by people with highest ratings on your team.
5/ Dont expect people to teach you and go easy on you. IXDL-O is definitely not where you learn to play dota. It is toxic and it is unforgiving as most players here want to rise to the top and expect you to do your job perfectly. You will get flamed and if you think you cant learn anything from these games and these people, just stay away until Valve implement a better solution or go here.
6/ Try making friends. It helps when people know your name and you know people's name. In fact, in most of the higher rating games, the ban/pick are really targeting on the more notable players on the other team. I once lost to a line up of treant-LoA-drow-SF-BH, that entire line up was dedicated to get the SF fed and kept him alive because they had a pretty absurd SF player that I didnt know about during draft.

This version of dota has to be the most balanced patch that I have ever played, and while the chinese are still catching up with the drafting game of this version, I kinda want to see how will the metagame look like eventually, we had like 2+ big metagame changes happened in this patch already and now that TC is just unlocked in CM, I don't think we will see a new patch coming in anytime soon. Especially since a new big patch will always introduce/change something (moderately) big. A new patch before Christmas is reasonable though.
Unless suddenly some team comes up with some uber strong strat that owns everyone's face (e.g. could be something to do with Medu or BB or some sort of broken pentacore line up), then a patch may be pushed out sooner.
Initially I thought TC would be in TI3 so a new patch can be expected post-TI3 but it was such a disappointment that TC wasn't there.

Naw, certain people are just crying their eyes out about the hero for unknown reasons (*cough* lost in a pub most likely *cough*). I will say that the hero is kinda awkwardly narrow though. I don't have suggestions for how to fix that but the hero isn't a very interesting one.

The problem is that historically IF doesn't revert nerfs / buffs (most recent example I can think of is Naga CD on riptide, but otherwise rare).
Edit: I think OD isn't that bad, tbh. Bat / Wisp are more worth concern for me.

Particularly as it pertains to small base stat buffs/nerfs like +5/-5 base MS. Incidentally, OD got one of those buffs, and it's an easy and natural revert.
