I think I've commended literally two players in a few hundred games. I commended a guy once who was really really helpful. Won mid with SF, listened to where I asked him to go, listened to what I wanted to build. Helped me with telling everyone what to get. Just in general he was someone I meshed well with. When we were winning, he told the team to commend me and the other support for being awesome. He told everyone he couldn't do it without our warding and camp stacking that helped him snowball out of control. Commended him in return for his nice gesture. I added him up after and still queue with him now and then.

There are just so many situations where you as a support can create openings and opportunities, but if your carry is subpar, they completely waste those. Situation that happened a few weeks ago: play as enchant, get my safe lane LD 3 kills and a tower in under 5 minutes, on their solo offlane Huskar. 20 minute mark, LD has raw midas and boots. Go back to replay, LD has 43 last hits free farming in 20 minutes. Oh yeah, this is "very high" It's not like the dynamic never works the opposite way. It can be pretty tough to carry if your supports suck. Lack of wards / dewarding, shitty ward placement, never stacking, lack of ganks, horrible prioritizing during fights (chasing and trying to nuke down useless supports instead of disabling carries in teamfights), excessive deaths, etc can be pretty frustrating for a carry. Thing is bad support play isn't as apparent as bad carry play, which you can generally gauge by KDA and net worth. I also find that in general support players feel a much lower burden of responsibility. If you point out they fed you get hit with "yea well I'm support" or "I bought all the wards", even if many of the deaths were due to careless positioning and bad decisions more than they were lack of net worth.

The first few months after commends were implemented it was everywhere, but now, nothing. Btw, when people try out for teams, look for new players etc, what's the hardest role to fill? The most important role to find a good player on? The most demanding role? What are your guys experiences with this in amateur tmm games? I am actually very curious about this. It's all hard as fuck. Mid players suffer from rtz "wtf you want from me I won my lane"-syndrome Carries suffer from "wtf I got all lasthits wtf you want from me"-syndrome Supports suffer from "wtf I warded and bought courier wtf wtf"-syndrome Offlaners suffer from "wtf I didn't die what's your problem"-syndrome From my experience so far lower level tmm games can be carried completely by your mid, afterwards it becomes a wash. I think overall it's not that hard to find someone who is "alright" for first pos or mid, strong offlaners or supports are much more rare. A lot of it comes down to that you can't exactly practice support or offlane in pubs as much as mid or first pos.

If you are the worse player in a dual stack with a player vastly better than you, then if you play a solo it's virtually guaranteed that the player you go against will be a lot better than you. The only time this wouldn't be the case is if the stack similar to yours on the other team has their worst player playing mid as well. Even if we assumed that skill has no relevance to which role you get to play. that would mean you'd get stomped 4 times out of 5. I don't think there's really a good solution to this, TBH. If you get mismatched stacks, the experience is going to suck for someone. The problem is that if you use some internal mechanism to discourage mismatched stacks (disallow or punish stacks that are too far apart on MMR), then you are encouraging the better player to smurf if he wants to play with those worse friends, and smurfing also ruins someones gameplay experience (just not necessarily the same people that as the mismatched stack does). I actually agree with TheYango on this. When there's a as huge discrepancy in skill between my casual friends and me, it's guaranteed that all games that i play with them on my main acc will be a stomp, for them. They will lose every single lane into lose the game everytime. At least if i use a smurf, they get to play with people similar to their level and they get to have fun. Thats the most important issue here. Queuing with friends should be a fun experience, its just not fun for them to get stomped every single time.

Shitty lineups work well when the team is properly coordinated, and amazing lineups outright fail when the team is uncoordinated. Just one guy who's a little bit ahead of or behind the pack can just fuck your whole team over. It's incredible.

I honestly suffer more from whiny teammates, those who mentally can't play from behind and constantly complain about issues that can be resolved/discussed after the game instead. It's ok to say "fuck, it's lost guys lets give up" but if the others disagree you shut up about that and give your best until it's over. Regarding positions, I can't say much about support cause I almost exclusively play with one other guy as "the support duo" and it's hard to analyze yourself. But I've noticed that it's hard to have both a flexible offlaner and mid. Sometimes you want a carry mid, sometimes you want an LD or prophet offlane. Having two players that can switch between two roles easily is not common for me in my tmmr range (ca 4000).

There is a green sell button under the item description after you click on the item in your inventory. No way to redeem it sadly.

Then again, I don't really play enough to really earn much. Sometimes, I feel that if Valve really turned up item drops by a good amount, they could actually make a decent trading game aside from the main game out of it.
