but QoP can fake the cast of shadow to try to get puck to waste phase shift, its a mind games and strategy fight, a great skillful match of two players on these can make for a very tense mid matchup Personally I think that Shadow Strike is easy to phase because it's telegraphed by a pretty longish animation with an okayish projectile speed. It might just be me but I think it's harder to react to a blink + scream combo which is why the MU is considered even.

Picks will generally be a bit more serious, but that's about the only difference between all pick. The experience might be better but that's debatable.

Well, I'm about to find out... unless the queue time gets too long.

The queue time for captains mode I get ranges from 8 minutes minimum to 15 minutes.
It was a while ago.

If both sides played "perfectly" then any engagement would favor the defender over the aggressor because each has a way to avoid the other's opening skill. Which means that in that theoretical case, QoP has a slight advantage due to her superior lasthitting basics (much faster animation/projectile speed).
At any skill level below that' the matchup essentially boils down to who punishes the other player's mistakes harder/gets away with more stuff they shouldn't.

How come you can't switch heroes in single draft, but you can switch in all other modes?

Of course I get picked as captain in my first CM game ever (zomg halpz pls!) but people made suggestions and it worked out fine. Which, according to the unwritten rules of Dota matchmaking, can only mean the next game will be a horrible desaster. Solo queue CM, the place where new metagames start.

Out of 500 games played till now i have only played 5 CM games. Not really a popular mode but I can say that at least 3 of those games are one of my favorite games in enjoyment as close to pro match I've played.
I wish valve introduce a ladder in CM , this hidden MMR is fine but I would like something more.

Let's see. 10 minutes to find CM game, then another 5-10 minutes to draft. Hm, no thanks.

Personally I don't see a point in solo CM queue, and there is a TMM ladder already (kind of).

SD was really a great mode when you could swap, now it's rather meh.

(Sry, no russian keyboard layout ) Danke, bratan! It's a shame the TMM ladder is designed so poorly though, a teams initial placement is based on an average of the players matchmaking rating. Which in itself is fine, but since you gain so few points per match, you gain TMM rating faster by winning pubs and remaking your team, this is even more true for the high rated teams, since all of their opponents much lower rated than them.
I think Valve should put a cap on how high a team can be placed initially (5k maybe), and also increase the amount of points lost/gained pr. match. This would incentivize actually playing TMM, and would probably increase activity in the top of the bracket.

Why is it that first person Dota 2 streams don't get nearly as much viewers as LoL ones, is there something less interesting about them? Event numbers seem pretty close, but I guess thats because Dota 2 has like one big event a year.

Even other big events are not that far away. Finals of a big tournament got over 100k, and super hyped up events (usually the Chinese ones with west teams participating) got close to 200k, Alienware Cup got over 350k for finals. I would say that LoL's personal stream numbers are extremely high, rather than Dota 2's being low, tbh. I can't tell you why, tho.
