Quick, how much damage can you achieve with a single ability cast? As many debuffs as are achievable in a normal dota game are permitted, but no e-blade damage. Note: casting the ability lots of times is fine, I'm just curious how much damage you can get from any specific cast of it. I guess shadow poison release could do hypothetically infinite damage, so maybe that doesn't count either
My guess: Adaptive strike
E: Math: 24 base agi + 3x24 levels = 96. Then 10 stat points and 6 from morph makes 122. Then morphing your base strength (19 + 24x2 = 67 minus the last point is 66) makes 188. Then 40x6 from items (e-blades) = 240+188=428. You may also be able to morph the 6 str from the morph ability. End total: 434. Adaptive is 2x so 868 before debuffs. With decrep and orchid and veil the number is a lot higher lol.

Infinity Huskar with 2 instances of shadow demon amplify and his agha ulti -> insta kill

False. Max-strength-morphed rubick with alchemist ult and 6 hearts is a finite number of HP, but possibly the most. Then 50% of that plus decrep and double amp is a lot higher than my guess though.
E: I guess you could do the pudge thing though... so maybe that is infinite technically.

Well... Theoretically Adaptive maxes at base damage pre-amplifications or reductions. You have 96 base AGI, another 66 from base Str->Agi morph, 12 from Morph's bonus stats and another 40 from Attribute Bonus stats. Assume 6 E-Blades in inventory, because they give more agi per slot than anything else, you've got another 240. Adaptive then does 988 base damage before reductions or amplifications. So it's still worse than Agh's Lion or Agh's Lina (but better than both pre-Aghs). All of the amplifications - Veil, Decrep, ET, Ancient Seal - are going to apply equally to everything.
I'm going to nominate Pudge Agh's Dismember and Silencer Glaives as abilities that shouldn't count because they do n damage. Not infinite, but arbitrarily high.

If we remove all abilities that could achieve infinite damage, the highest possibe damage would be a crit from pa, with 6 rapiers and all possible buffs.

True, but that's not an ability you can cast. So the highest might be a manual-cast Orb effect - probably Arcane Orb - to go with 5 Rapiers and a Daedalus.

So let's be a bit nitpicky, I can easily raise your examples with an aoe-ability, You didn't say the damage has to be dealt to a single target, right?

Would that count though? You don't cast Walrus Punch on a target; you cast Walrus Punch, it applies a buff to you, and then you right-click your target. The ability cast in and of itself does no damage.

Lets assume the target is next to a elder titan and is affected by decrepify, ancient seal, ice wortex, veil of discord and plague aura with agha(cant think of more amplification spells that dont do separate damage instance, like soul catcher)
So whatever spell is thrown at the target takes 1*1.4*1.36*1.25*1.25*1.35=4.01625 times the damage of the spell due to the target having its base resistance reduced to 0 by natural order.
Best i can think of right now is Agha Fiends Grip that has base power of 1890 resulting in 7590 damage to a single target.

Refresher warlock with 2 fatal bonds on heroes that all have zero int(stolen by silencer), against an OD with with max int possible casting its ult on all of them
That should be highest damage possible.

I wonder how high you can get storm spirit ulti? (with, say, cheese mid-flight to get really far). 16 dmg per 100 units, how big is the map diagonally?
Also doom with aghs is kinda cheating too now that I think about it. Aghs Pugna life drain is 3000 magic damage, which is a pretty good thought as well.
Yes yes PA crit is probably tops.

Well, in WTF you can drop Remnants mid-flight to refill mana, so you could cover the map corner to corner.

A Doom against a Hero with enough regen to offset the Doom damage could actually reach infinite damage I guess. That may be possible.

Morphling on full strength and 6 hearts would have 6712 hp, unless I made a typo. I guess if we count huskar's ultimate, that's pretty much the maximum.
If we count non infinite eblade damage, it would probably be something like silencer stealing all intelligence from pugna, dazzle, OD, skywrath and lina. That would be 536 int stealable. It's very far from huskar's dunking ult though.

Hmmm fatal bonds sounds like cheating but w/e.
I think I should have specified "to a single target" oops.
How much int is max possible for OD?
4 stacks of int steal = 40. 26 base, 3.3x24 from stat gain. 5x sheep at 35 each plus 1 aghs at 10. total: 66 + (79) + 175 + 10 = 330 int I believe. 330x11 = 3630 dmg to single target. (slightly higher than the extra 25 int but no aghs from the 6th sheep stick).

No huskar wins highest damage as he can easily deal more than 100% of your hp. But we excluded everything that could deal infinite.
