Speaking of which, why is it not possible to filter live games by player name when I can do so on recent games?

If everyone is just going to be anecdotally one-upping each other, I'd say we should move on. yeah my yet to see them break 30-33k on personal streams was in response to a guy who said "lol pros regularly get 2-5x what dendi gets in his peak viewers" which is just stupidly false, and then a bunch of people jump in on comments and bring them out of context to assert their own point, when the original point was: dota upon release saw a 50% surge in viewership on tiwtch and 80% surge in popular streamers viewer counts. which is exciting because oin comparison to lol which is a streamer culture, we are hitting similar numbers on popular streams and have hit the halfway point in total viewers.

Speaking of which, why is it not possible to filter live games by player name when I can do so on recent games? There's a few minute delay on games in the client to prevent people from "cheating" in that sense. Streams however are generally more "live". You wouldn't be able to find the game until a bit after it starts.

So it's either a private game (does this even exist in dota?) or he's playing with a lot of people that drag the MMR way down. And if they do delay the matches there is really no reason not to be able to search for a player. Not sure why Valve does this...

There are private games, but this is not one of them. This also works wonderfully for smaller tournaments that are not streamed (and what I did initially to watch D2L season 3 before the ticket came out).

I'm just confused why Valve are making it so hard to find players you are interesting in game when they have this great spectator mode already. If the games are delayed by minutes then stream-cheating shouldn't be a concern. Just doesn't make sense to me if I look at it from their perspective.

Just look their team up then click on the player...

The benefit though is that considering how often some pros change their display name you can almost always count on them being on the account under the their team in the community page. Even with search it wouldn't be foolproof.

I would just like to go to live games and type in part of his name in a search box and find him like google auto-fill. This should be a piece of cake to implement. And don't get me wrong, this is not bitching. I like DOTA a lot and I just think this is something that could be improved to attract more people.

Also Dendi has some relaxing music. Even with search it wouldn't be foolproof. With a verified account you can even have it so that when he changes his steam name your search results will still yield the same name. Obviously this won't work if he goes onto different accounts but that is the same when you go to the community tab and into teams.

Or that he just haven't seen it because he doesn't watch it, which would be incredibly silly. Didn't a LoL streamer reach a ridiculous number once because he was taking part of a contest or something? I have seen Hotshotgg with more than 40k I think around 45k. He streamed just for like 2houres though. Chilled guy, the whole chat was begging him to play adds and become a millionare, was hillarious.
