Dendi should play WoT and stream it.

Specifically there was a guy who was claiming dota will never be big (lol first of all), because dota players don't get the viewers that LoL players get. xD

Dendi gets like 3x more than even the more popular viewers like Sing and Dread. He's the human mascot representative of dota2.

He get's more than even the more popular? That doesn't make sense, man

You know what I mean . Too lazy to bother with editing it..

P.S. And yeah, Dendi gets more than people who have more

Dendi seems to have taken half of Solo's viewers though.

I just love the fact that solo can go on and get 12k.

such a stupid statement it hurts.

Even korean dota 2 players know that in order for dota 2 to thrive it needs to steal a large chunk of the korean LoL player/viewer base. We can pretend all we want that it isn't a competition, but at the end of the day that's exactly what it is. Riot knows this, so does valve, and so should you.

I am not saying that both games cant exist along side one another, but i am saying that in order for dota 2 to reach the level must of us hope for, it needs to be done by converting HoN/LoL/RTS/FPS gamers.

It is refreshing to know that the process is working and still growing, fans of other games are now becoming fans of dota 2, and we are seeing player streams that exceed 20k. last year that number would have been a pipe dream.

I dont think dota need the 15 FPS players to succeed

Well in terms of eSports I don't think this is true.

Dota as an eSport could double the viewership just in people who play Dota but don't watch Dota.

Wat.

I dislike LoL, but to say they don't have personalities as big as Dendi is downright wrong.

The most popular LoL streamers pull 2 to 5 times the amount of viewers Dendi can hit as his peak.

i have yet to see a lol streamer with over 30-33k ever. so they can't even pull 2x dendi.

dota 2 post release is getting really good stream numbers and thats a positive. half of the total people watching lol right now are watching dota 2, and with how massive a stream culture lol has thats very exciting to see the numbers reflected for dota 2.

Chaox. GG NO RE. Or Dyrus. Or plenty of other League of Legend pros. They pull in 20-30k viewers at times, and they are highly skilled at the game they play. And they are wildly popular. Reginald is another.

And Xizor, lmao. LoL will always have a numbers advantage at least for the time being. Probably for awhile. They just have too much backing from Riot, while Valve has too much of a hands off approach. Plus you're only talking about Dendi; various other pros struggle to break 1k viewers at time let alone come anywhere near Dendi's numbers.

But none of them have the level of skill in LoL comparable to Dendi's in DotA--that is, Dendi makes a bid for being best mid player in the world, when none of the players in contention for "best of X role in the world" in LoL are anywhere close to the top stream numbers. The most successful streamers by and large tend to be washed up NA "pros".

Any LoL streamer that has been that successful has done so whilst arguably making a sacrifice to their actual skill and improvement. Citing any successful NA streamer is affirmation of this given how NA teams' skill level plummeted compared to the rest of the world over the course of Season 2.

The closest player to achieving Dendi's kind of success in streaming without a sacrifice to his professional practice/level of play is Toyz, the mid player from the team that won Season 2, and even then it could be argued that his play in S3 also deteriorated quickly, after his streaming became popular.

Chaox reached 30k viewers before I think after he got kicked off TSM. He also received tons of donation money literally within 10 minutes of being kicked. And other League pros regularly pull anywhere from 5k-20k viewers depending on their popularity.

Yeah but it's pretty silly to argue that they don't have more viewers than Dendi when they clearly do on a regular and consistent basis. If Dendi streamed all the time, I'm not sure if he would be pulling 20k viewers like other streamers do.

Which says the same thing I said.

Essentially, he's saying anyone better than Dendi is less popular than him, and anyone more popular than Dendi is worse than him. Which is kind of right, given that virtually all the successful LoL streamers are, from a global perspective, terrible.

He technically said they can't reach 2x Dendi, but also that they never get over 30k. Or that he just haven't seen it because he doesn't watch it, which would be incredibly silly.

Didn't a LoL streamer reach a ridiculous number once because he was taking part of a contest or something?

OK, yeah, PX is just being silly then because I can definitely recall multiple occasions where LoL streamers have broken 40k viewers on Twitch.

This guy broke 130k. That's probally a little bit more than 2x Dendi. Sure, it wasn't a random stream, but it still is a personal stream.

That was a 1v1 tournament for a spot in Allstars, thats not a personal stream so to speak but an event happening on a personal stream instead of someone mming. All being said, that was really impressive though.

I thought it wasn't an actual event, just the two players deciding to duel each other on their own to attract viewers and votes. And that the results of the match wouldn't actually mean anything, it was just to influence voters,

Dendi's personal stream went to nearly 40k (or was it 50?) when Na'Vi announced Kuroky as their 5th member and he streamed their scrims right after that.

This is starting to get awfully petty and stupid, seeing as there's not a place where this is well-tabulated. If everyone is just going to be anecdotally one-upping each other, I'd say we should move on.
