If FY's performance in the Redbull ECL 1v1 is anything to go by, it's that even a support player can be a very practiced tournament 1v1 solo player.
Black is in the pool as well, isn't he? And some teams have 3 players if I remember correctly. So they're not just basing it off which lane they're usually in..that said I have no idea what exactly they are basing it on.

No Black isn't in the pool, just checked
But the selections are pretty arbitrary indeed. It's not like they only picked players who actually play the solo mid role frequently, since players like YYF, iceiceice are there. Zhou goes mid much more often than YYF I think. And there's 3 Zenith players and only Super from DK..
Anyway, at least I can pick both TC and Korok (though Bulba sometimes plays mid as well)

Yes he is, I just checked again.

You're right, I can't find him now either. I really thought I saw him earlier, because I was thinking to myself "Why would they add him to the 1v1 tourney?"..Guess I must be seeing things. Still, Zenith have 3 players in that pool.

I recently had a thread locked because I suggested that LoL is the game with the higher skill cap because it features skill shots and LoL doesn't.
Then I madea thread with an OP about as moderate and unassuming as posts get. And it was locked before hardly a minute had gone by.
Why the need to censor? Afraid of the truth? So much for the idea that the DotA2 community is more mature than that of LoL.

I THOUGHT THIS WAS 'MURICA

Also it's a fucking inflammatory topic that is pointless to discuss, because it's entirely subjective.

yeah, im pretty sure there is something of an unwritten policy of no dota2 v lol flame inducing threads, why are you looking to bring this BS here with your passive-agressive flamebait after you got two threads locked for that reason?

VS threads generally are one way tickets to stupid discussions that leads absolutely nowhere. If you want to play LoL, go play lol. I'm certain there are other people on this forum who thinks the same. But in general this is a Dota supporting forum, so you wont find an abundance of people willing to even discuss the topic (dota players, at least those who come from wc3 dota, hates LoL. And for good reasons). it would be like going into a "Toyota sports car owners" forum and post the thread "Toyota vs Chevrolet"
No, we're not afraid of the truth. We already know it. Your truth might be different. But don't try to Jehovah Witness us into believing yours. We don't care.
edit: Just to be absolutely 100% clear. I don't hate Jehovah witness or any particular religion at all. They're just incredibly annoying with their door to door "have you read this book of jesus?" policy.

If you don't understand that, then you aren't familiar with the history of religion and many other things, and I suggest you inform yourself.

It was inflammatory only if you assume that people lack the maturity to disagree without flaming. Maybe in your case that's true, but you shouldn't generalize to other people.

cuz pplz needz to knowz that Leaguez haz amazing skill shotz. Hur hurrr

Mature people or not, we've discussed the same topic many times before (Here as well) and we really don't need to discuss it anymore.

It's clear that you do lack a great deal of maturity, as you assume TL's 'censorship' of your topic is due to them being afraid of the truth. You then compare the mods to religious extremists. If you bothered to do even a tiny iota of research, you'd see this topic has been discussed to death and no actual conclusion has reached. If you have any more complaints, please create a topic here:

EDIT: Did you just say that someone using the word fucking is inflammatory to you. Wat.

(1) I think you'll find that Versus threads aren't usually banned on this forum.
(2) You're wrong that it would lead nowhere. I find the conversation interesting. I want to know whether DotA2 has potential to become a sport like football and basketball and tennis. LoL certainly does because of the presence of skill shots. I'm less certain in the case of DotA2, which primarily seems to be about strategy. But from what I've witnessed, the community isn't mature enough to even discuss whether DotA2 is primarily about strategy.

LoL certainly does because of the presence of skill shots. I'm curious why you believe this to be the case, given that "skillshots" in a game like LoL are much more akin to mindgames in something like Poker (seeing as it's essentially just bluffing/mindgames with your target about which way he's going to dodge rather than a task of physical precision) rather than feats of physical ability seen in sports. The actual skill of aiming and firing a skillshot is actually extraordinarily low in most cases. The real difficulty comes entirely from the bluffing/mindgame aspect.

I don't think anyone has disputed that DotA is primarily, if not exclusively, a game of strategy.

That is why I made a knew thread. Because I wasn't satisfied with the community's understanding of the issue or even of the question I raised.
