They pulled out of all tournaments and I think there's rumor that they'll get a new roster after TI3 and stay inactive in the meantime. Watch The GD show tonight, 2GD usually does make announcements about the team.

Hmm, even without a full roster I would expect them to at least try to attend dreamhack...

yeah that makes sense. Pretty much every good player is locked into a team atm for obvious reasons, but after TI3 there will suddenly be good free agents.

I honestly don't see many western teams disbanding after TI3, or at least not as many as last year.

well, give it 2 and a half months...

I'm pretty sure there will be some amount of significant roster changes in the west come August 12th.

I mean, of the 15 teams in the tournament right now, 7 of them won't even come in top-half. I'm not sure that that many teams on the list can take that kind of loss in stride. I'd assume most of those teams would be disappointed with anything not Top-4

Isn't there a wildcard spot left for the internationnal? So EG and QPAD would still have a slim chance to participate in it

Wildcard spot is for the winner between second place in the western qualifier and second place in the eastern qualifier. It's not valve just picking a team to play in TI3.

Haven't seen that misconception in a few months lol.

No, that match is between DD.Dota and RattleSnakes (the runners up of the west and east qualifiers, respectively).

yeah, the wildcard is decided, it's DD vs Rattlesnakes, bo3 (bo5?) in Seattle to kick off ti3 and see who gets the last spot in the big show.

wait, that happens in seattle offline? holy shit that is going to be an incredibly tense series for those teams. I mean, to fly all the way out there with the knowledge that you might not even be able to play in the tournament... stressful man.

If we look at the same time last year though there were many teams that no one would be surprised if they disbanded after TI2.

Now, who would not be surprising at all if they completely disbanded? DD?

Every other team has been together for ages for the most part and I can see them maybe change a player or two but I don't see Fnatic/Mouz/VP/Dignitas/Whatever to be in the same boat as Darer/m5/al/mtw/mouz/etc...

Well at worst its a free flight to seattle to watch and do touristy stuff (not that they don't want to win obviously).

Darer, CLG etc were just as "stable" as current VP/Dignitas etc as far as I know.

I mean, right now none of those teams look like they are going to disband or change rosters any time soon, but 2.5 months is quite a while. Obviously nobody knows exactly what will happen yet.

CLG was made in February and lost 2 players in like April (sure they played as Xp before that). Darer didn't have the results that any of the invited teams have this year.

VP has had the same line-up except for 1 player since september, and has had decent success all year around.

Dignitas has been together since before the last international and has had single player swaps here and there, which isn't enough to call a team unstable. Especially not by 2012 standards.

I don't know by what definition these teams are less or 'as' stable compared to last years. And this is even comparing them to the most stable teams which disbanded.
