Once again: Dmg portion of BF (ignoring the regen you get for that cost as well): 67 gold per dmg. Claymore/Broadsword/Hammer: 67 gold per dmg. Relic: 62 gold per dmg. Demon Edge: 52 gold per dmg. Dmg portion of BF (assuming you wanted the regen portion anyway): 47 gold per dmg. I don't understand what you're trying to show Bfury has effective dmg/gold components in it, okay. So? As a damage item, it's still bad, and outshined by many others. edit: not to mention it's outshined by blademail by your criteria. I think we all could use a little more blademails in our games.

It's not like you'd ever see Linken's Void or Linken's AM even though they're also hard to gank and would benefit from a first-hit spell block when split-pushing.

One fact about Dusa was not really explored yet, I think. And that is that each Arcane Boots usage is basically a bigger Mek for her. Just imagine getting a 1k hp heal on your carry during a teamfight. Because of that, I think you should build her more as a glass cannon so that the enemies can't just ignore her. Trying to play Medusa as a mid-gamer? I am not sure that works. The thing is that Medusa need a lot of item to be effective. Going for these mid-game item means delaying your Linken/Butterfly/Manta. She can't contribute much in teamfight. Medusa was built to be a hardcore late-gamer. The optimum build is the ZSMJ Medusa Build. Linken,Manta,Butterfly,Threads, and 2 Divine.

The mechanics of mana shield make this far worse than it actually sounds. While you get better ratios in the sense of 2.25 damage per mana, it is not reduced by armor so it ends up being vastly inferior later on in the game when your agility hero has a lot of armor. For a mid game teamfight this would also mean sacrificing split shot or snake to max mana shield which makes your teamfight that much worse. If you focus too much on mana you can also end up dying to health while you still have a mana left, although you'd have to be doing something pretty crazy for this to happen in dota.

I max split shot last, am I doing something wrong?

He has one spell that doesn't cost mana (you need mana to cast ult, but it resets your mana to its value 5 seconds ago, so it doesn't actually use it), a 6 second CD spell that costs 60 mana. And a long-CD 100 mana cost spell that is basically only ever going to be used either in fights or as a situational vision spell. His mana usage basically doesn't exceed Anti-Mage's or Slark's, and both those heroes flat-line their mana really easily with minimal mana regen items. Maybe I'm misunderstanding something, but I legitimately do not understand how that much regen/mana on Weaver is anything but a waste.

You're pigeonholing yourself into that, just because that's the only way you've seen people play the hero because they build the hero for the lategame. Pretty much any hero can be played in more than just one way, I think Dusa could be built for midgame with the right item and skill builds. I guess you would have to leave Mystic Snake at level 1/2 for this style. I'm not saying it's actually a good way to play her, but I think it definitely has more potential than trying to make a lategame Dusa work right now, that's just impossible, I think.

Same reason why you build "midgame items" on a Luna or PL. You have better teamfighting when it matters but you still have the option to farm it out and abuse that you scale so damn well.
