hahahaha, this comment is cute

Mean while, i just read some facebook update from the vietnamese esport(mainly dota) veteran i know. Turn out the money Garena pumping for LoL and HoN are incredible and gathering a lot of TV attention. Sadly none for dota2 I wonder if that is true for the entire SEA scene.

Just wait until you have your blink/force(shivas) and get BoT. Early BoT on bat is scary as shit.

The era is different. PL is strong in a time where there's lots of viable carries and lots of heroes who have good carry shutdown potential like batrider. I don't think PL is stronger than AM back then, there's no fucking way. At least now if either AM or PL is turtle farming then if you have at least 1 good viable carry you're still in the game. I was more so referring to some time before the international 2 era. I just hate dealing with PL's early game and late game.

Pretty much back then we were looking at a 1.35 BAT with sexcellent Blink animation AM. Also highest base movespeed at the time (no CK or Luna yet). Fastest-attacking hero, best position-altering (Blink) animation as a skill, and fastest-moving hero. Only hero that was comparable lategame was Void, and that pretty much meant getting rolled over in the mid-late game when AM was 1.5 items ahead. Pushing style wasn't in vogue, and there weren't too many strong Blink-disabling spells. No Lycan, no Naga net, few natural Blink chasers (no Batrider).

Or the fact that pre-nerf Vanguard and fast natural BAT meant that Vanguard+Yasha rather than Battle Fury was the standard in Chinese play, and 6.72 AM was more or less could be in on the action at 15-18 minutes and still be effective--without any of the gaps in power development that one has to deal with in a Battle Fury based route.

Don't quit playing him. Just try to pick him when it's actually a good time to do so. (Fuck nyx, srsly)

There is never a good time to play meepo. Even if you play him perfectly (which is near impossible in itself), he's still only a "meh" hero. I have yet to see any progamers pick him and win (excluding some matches where they'd won 4v5 anyways. Also, if you could prove me wrong with a vod I'd be a happy man).

notail played him for fnatic in a very nice match. I don't remember which game it was though or I'd find the vod for you. Splitpush with furion/meepo.

He played him vs Baguette and Virtus.pro

Virtus pro match

That..was..beautiful. Never realized the amazing synergi between meepo and np :D Still tho, that requires incredible amounts of awareness and teamwork, and also some luck in the pick phase. I don't think you can play like that in pubs.

Can play that way or if solo queue, can try variations but it still works. Meepo is still a strong hero but can be countered pretty well. What makes Meepo hard to play is the lacking early damage (such low damage early in the beginning) and it requiring a pretty high level of multitasking/map awareness.

There are just many variables that must be taken into account, but a strong and fun hero.

I'm convinced. Going to try meepo for a month' time and see how it goes. Look for me in the QQ thread xD

The problem with meepo in pubs, in my opinion, is that he's a carry that is very weak in the early game, and needs his team to create space for him to farm, so he can just get out of control, similar to a spectre or medusa.

Obviously, this doesn't happen a lot of the time since pubs are just every man for himself, so it can be hard to get to the point where meepo really shines. There's also a stigma with meepo in pubs, a lot of people just think he's really awful due to his low winrate in pubs, and when they see someone on their team pick meepo, will just think "gg meepo, we lose, just going to afk farm all game on furion" or something.

thats because most people who pick meepo in pubs are in fact bad with him and are unlikely to carry the game even if given complete freedom early

What does your "ideal" 6-slot meepo look like?

BoT/Aghs/Heart +3 almost certainly, but what are the 3?

More hearts?
Ethereal blade?
Blink?
Skadi? (seems pretty bad really)

Presumably mek is no-longer relevant so it comes off the list.

Thoughts on SnY on CK? I've never been a big fan of the item in general, but it seems like it has a highly impressive 70%+ winrate on this hero.

Hoping somebody that frequently uses this build can chime in.

It's nice especially since you can disassemble it and go for Manta+Halberd later.

S&Y is honestly quite good after the multiple buffs it's gotten.

Manta is still better for CK because of the Illusions being more useful for him (plus CK doesn't need the extra MS from S&Y to reach max MS), but its situationally OK if you need an item at a crucial timing, especially since you can disassemble it later.

Though in general, I feel people over-value damage stats on CK and don't put enough stock on buying more Strength. Staying power is a big boon to CK because it's not just for keeping you in the fight--it keeps your illusions up to do damage (since they do 100% of your damage, it's worth it to invest in keeping them alive as it boosts your damage as well when the Illusions are up). Most pub CKs I see delay Heart for way too long when it's absolutely the best item for making your Illusions hard to kill.

Armlet's the only real exception to this because of how you can get the +Str on your illusions. Things like Manta/S&Y should only be bought after your Illusions are fairly beefy.

Treads/BoT, Mekansm, Vladmir, Aghanim, Blink/Messer, Messer.
Heart is a waste on Meepo.

Heart gives +40 strength to the 25 of reaver (btw messer doesn't mean anything). Vlads is disastrously bad and I'm talking ideal 6-slot not how it would normally work out, so mek is pretty terribad as well.

Messer = Messerschmidt's Reaver I think. I have no clue why you wouldn't just call it Reaver though, tbh. Same number of letters, less confusing.

I think the biggest issue with SnY is that people never really want to trade off for basher or manta

BoTs, Heart, Aghanims, Eblade, Blink, +1 is ideal, imo. The +1 can be anything depending on the situation, really. Skadi/Heart/Abyssal/Desolator/Dagon 5/Manta can all be viable sometimes, I think. That is if we're talking uber late-game, when the supports are buying an AC and you don't have to worry about it as a meepo and can maximize on the item slots.

Oooo I never thought of manta. You could totally send in illusions then poof to them right? (I mean, yes you have blink, but this just sounds way sweeter).
