I think a lot of players think he is good, but just don't feel comfortable about when to draft him or not. I think he could be amazing against a Naix pick. AngryTestie plays a DISGUSTING Corrupted Disciple who is the HON equivalent of Razor. He can rice really well on him and he can tear people apart. Testie can do this with most heroes but his CD is definitely very strong.

Gabe is so well versed in so many different areas - human behavior, organizational theory, economics, tech - it's a wonder how he ties it all together. I'm surprised he hasn't spoken at TED yet. Gabe is so well versed in so many different areas - human behavior, organizational theory, economics, tech - it's a wonder how he ties it all together. I'm surprised he hasn't spoken at TED yet. Thanks for sharing! "The rating system that we're using is an internal one, that we think is kind of crappy. We think the idea is fine, it's just a lousy implementation. And the change that we made was specifically to give users more control over how their data was. And the DotaBuff guys sort of wigged out about it. So we think we're making the right decision on both of those. To give users a better more robust mechanism so that users know how well they play, and also make users feel like... So one of the important characteristics of a system is how true it feels to people, that's something we're always conscious of. We want to make system that feel trustworthy. Because there's actually a lot of real economic value to having a system behaving in a predictable fashion. That's sort of a long-winded way to say that we think we did the right thing." Will you ever implement a rating system? "Oh yeah, we're in the process of doing that. We think the one that's currently in it is sort of a crappy one that we did before we had a better idea of how to do it. We want people to add value, because that's what we think is the key to successful games. To enable people to do stuff like, generating replays, commentary, coming up with clever ways of evaluating players. All of them look like content creation, things we have to fit into a framework if we're properly designing it.

Thanks for sharing! That's why Valve is awesome, with someone like Gabe at the helm. He's a genius yet he doesn't have that smug feeling many big shot game developers have. Loved that carry CM quote, he sounds like he knows the inside jokes of dota .

And although HoN has similar heroes I don't think the comparison is especially fruitful. I'm also not sure what 1 specific player's usage of the hero is supposed to say. Is that guy better than everyone who's ever tried to play Razor in Dota? I'd highly doubt it, Razor is an okay anti-carry who can be used in some very niche situations but ultimately he's not all that useful and not that difficult to shut down, no matter how skilled the player.

even with his passive its too easy to focus him down right now and he doesnt scale into the late game very well, and his early/midgame isnt as strong as some other heroes to justify playing him as such.
