Skip to 2minutes 45seconds. I found that way too funny. Especially considering I lived in SEA. Also skip to 7min 30s where they introduce the crew, the leplay master is the best. ~ Nice that SL has another season, but I really don't get why the prize pool is the same as it was in Season 1,2,3. Considering they now have tickets, which are one of the more popular ones. They also have about 10 times the viewership they had in Season 1. It seems even though Dota's viewership is now bigger than SC2 (No western SC2 league gets numbers as consistently big as SL), yet we have the same shitty prize pools.

Also curious on the validity on Gyro, and whether or not China will see value in him in the next month or so.

The chinese just pick some strong aggressive tri and dominate wisp early game generally so the wisp has such a late 6 it doesn't even matter. I think wisp is strong but only in the right situation, you can't just blindly pick it. It makes more sense being a top ban against certain teams that really know how to use it and then situational ban against other teams that can use it but it's not core to their gameplay. He's got really amazing damage early game and his late game damage is good too but it feels like there's a middle patch where he's slightly weak. Where he can't get in range for rocket barrage but doesn't have enough damage items to make up for that.

I feel like they should just change bat to have scaling turn-rate decrease (25/40/55/70% turnrate slow) as opposed to flat 70%. However, I'm not sure how much of an effect this would have on his competitive play (which I suppose is where the issue is). Another thought is to have charge based turn-rate decrease on the napalm (25% turnrate per stack of napalm, max -75%), or a combo of both (15/20/25/30% turnrate per stack, max 40/50/60/70% or similar). Again though, this is the part of bat that is annoying in pubs not in pro games. Maybe it would reduce his laning power enough to make him more reasonable in pro games? Unlikely, his midgame is too berzerk. Dunno though, I'm not IceFrog ![]()

Well, the thing about wisp is its commonly paired with CK in the middle lane (really, the way I prefer laning it), and it can get multiple kills on the solo midlane hero (which may or may not force a dual lane mid by the other team). Obviously, this dual lane can be ganked, but it would require two supports to rotate, and as long as the wisp ck have some sort of decent warding, they should be able to avoid ganks. CK + Wisp is somewhat flexible laning wise.

CK + Wisp is somewhat flexible laning wise. Middle dual lanes are extremely risky. Even more risky is the CK+wisp dual lane I feel since it relies a lot on high ground vision and momentum. It leaves you with two potentially weak lanes and a very tricky mid lane to shut down. If it works it is amazing but if it doesn't it's rather bad. There's no real middle ground with it. You can't just farm it out like a AM or void dual lane.

I guess the money goes into getting better teams there. I'm pretty sure they didn't help euro teams with accommodation and travel expenses in the first 2/3 seasons, so it was basically just CIS teams there. In the recent ones it seems better.

Defense is same shit. They've increased the pool by what? from 10k euro to 20k dollars, An increase of 50%. Even though jD's numbers are enormous now, and the prize pool is most likely supplied by sponsors. And they have absurd amounts of ticket sales. Dota prize pools are far too low for their viewership, that's just how it is. Hopefully this ESL league will change that through-out. (and as far as I'm aware, ESL pays for flights as well)
