Any "% increased damage" (Vlad's, VS aura, Sven ult, Enchant Totem, etc.) effect applies only on base + stat based damage. This includes +primary stat from items, but NOT flat damage from items.

@ilbh In Dota, gold is much harder to get, and so if you do not last hit properly from the very start of the game it is very easy to find yourself in a position where you have no items by the middle part or end of the game and so you can be killed very very quickly by a large number of heroes who are properly farmed. In LoL, this is counteracted by each player getting much more gold over time then players do in Dota, meaning they can buy survivability items much more easily. This is also part of why dota is often considered "harder" then LoL. In addition, you lose gold upon death, which contributes to a strong "snowball" effect for some heroes.
basically its all part of the learning curve, if you keep at it you will soon enough find yourself on the other end of the 1-shotting. GL also, there isnt anything in the game that can one shot you if you are playing properly.
just wanted to say, PA ?
There's a lot more than that - QoP, Lina, Lion, Tiny, Tinker with a dagon, etc. all can instagib people who have <1000 hp very easily if they have even a small advantage. (TA to a lesser degree).
In all cases except Tinker and Tiny, those are cooldown dependent, and Tiny requires you to be a lone target for the Ava-Toss double damage trick. Situations where you expose yourself to those kinds of solo kills fall under the category of "not playing properly".
I would agree, I was just pointing out that there are more heroes than just PA that could make someone feel like they had been one shotted (if they open the damage page they would see that that's not true, but that doesn't seem to be the case here). Also, it would be way more common for those heroes to be responsible than a PA. edit - Lothars got changed a lot in the last patch

Are brazilians to NA what russians are to EU?
Yes, however it's less angry mid or feed but more annoying mid or feed.

cause I want to hear other people thoughts? I may be doing something wrong? my experience so far is that a lot of heroes can teleport right over you out of nowhere and kill you with one shot and there is nothing you can do. this is wrong, this shouldn't be possible to happen in any kind of game.
Link us the dota stats pages for the games and we'll be able to tell you where you went wrong
So apparently ALL spells in dota 2 are 25 less range than intended? Um, that's probably useful information to some people. This applies to auras as well (explaining why lycan jungle feels a bit different). It apparently even applies to orb spells, if they're autocast then they use the proper range but if they're cast manually it is -25 range. - http://dev.dota2.com/showthread.php?t=56100
Pretty much everything in the common bugs list and intended fix list qualifies as "useful information to some people". Worth it for everyone to give them both at least a once-over.

It's probably just because you are new and don't know how to handle the heroes. Kinda like new players think Akali is OP in LoL, she can just teleport to you and burst you down, but once you know how to handle it she isn't really OP, not even close.
Unless it was Sven or Magnus, then you might have a point.

Yeah, this one is just incredibly low on the list and effects everything (and some heroes like enchantress much more than others). I can't even find it on the known bugs list currently

For huskar for instance his orb is 50 range longer than his autoattack, so it would feel longer. Drow/Clinkz should have the same range on their orbs as their autos but when manually cast they move closer than their max range

If you're playing properly PA will never reach the point where she can one shot you.
elaborate, because I disagree
What do you mean elaborate? If the PA can kill you with a single right click you've been doing something wrong for awhile. Assuming you took a level 16 PA so you can get the highest crit multiplier you'd be doing about 100 base damage+65BF+8treads+24BKB+I guess you can have an MKB just because it won't matter 88.
That is about 1283 damage on a critical hit. A level 16 leshrac has 1292 effective hitpoints without any items. Troll leshrac with no items is going to survive your PA one shot. A bracer is worth about 3 levels (in hitpoints/armor) so if you want to jump on a lower level hero it will be made up for in items. If you're letting the PA freefarm up to three items you're already doing something horribly wrong and playing poorly, but even that isn't enough to one shot a squishy support.

I've discovered this for a while, just playing with LSA and dota_range_display.
No matter how many times I cast at the edge of her cast limit, she always moves a little bit. At least now I know it wasn't just me going crazy.
so my friend who is not that great at dota linked this to me and was talking about the rng in dota (jinada guaranteed crit vs coup de grace chance argument) and map disparities (rosh pit) as well as some of the other arguments in the vid and was convinced that league was better because there wasnt any of this such subtle features are what make dota such an exciting and dynamic game with infinite possibilities, but i agree that first hit bear entangles can be extremely frustrating as well as getting pa crit 3 times in a row that could possibly change the tide of a high stakes tournament game, and compared to stale gameplay i can see/understand why certain individuals would prefer that that all players have the exact same starting pieces, tools, and map to play on
Recommendation time TL'ers. Me and a friend have taken up playing the carry/support safelane for our pubbing adventures. So far we've tried: CK + Wisp CK+ AA Naix + AA Sven + Jakiro Phantom Lancer + Jakiro Riki + Jakiro Luna + Jakiro Luna + Vengeful(This is hilarious, hitting for 100 at level 3)
What we really want is more heroes to go with AA, specifically stuff like CK and Naix that makes Cold feet always stun.
Other Duo lanes we could look into would be appreciated aswell
