Or both LS and loh will be worthless since you get much less damage and a lot fewer hits than in PvE. How about life regen though?  Save it if you want, but don't bet too much on it to increase in value. | ||

For someone who can't afford good gear, a shield adds enough ehp so you can start farming. I'm talking from personal experience here, a sword and board barb is what allowed me to start farming act3 (pre mp) and later I switched to an offhand when I got enough ehp from other pieces. I'm not saying that shield is worth tons or that shields are a valid top end choice, I'm just saying they aren't useless  | ||
