because if the characters get deleted, i won't bother with this open beta, because i'd expect neither the content nor the skill system nor anything else to be the same when the game gets released then. In that case it'd basically be just running around in a game engine and seeing if it crashes, and that doesn't have any appeal to me whatsoever really..Open Beta Weekend - Page 5

Everything is pretty much in its final state. There will be very few balance changes over the remaining 10 days of beta. Most changes will be optimisations and bug fixes. In that case it'd basically be just running around in a game engine and seeing if it crashes, and that doesn't have any appeal to me whatsoever really.. I plan on playing Demon Hunter on release and will not make a second character till I hit 60 (and probably even longer cuz of inferno/gearing etc). I plan to play all the other 4 classes to level 13 over the next few days to get a feel for them, because it will be a very long time till I get to play any of them. To me that it a solid use of my time, and later when I do eventually make my second character I would want to start fresh anyway because it would have been a few months anyway. | ||

There's quite a few people over on SomethingAwful who have already said they'll just rush through the opening part of the game, because they've been playing it over and over again. I've waited years for this game, another 25 days (probably) won't kill me. I also think it'll be much more satisfying stumbling through the cathedral for the first time and knowing the game won't end after the Skeleton King.
