Not impressed.

You can see enough that my strikes are being calculated at the same time as animation connects. Come now. It is common knowledge D3 uses this technology. There's no reason to doubt it. Especially when it has been corroborated by so many people.

What I'm asking myself: As diablo 3 is online only, Blizzard can change item drop rates on the fly in realtime without noticing anybody, right? So when a party is controlling both the recources and the exchange marked isn' there a lot of potential for inside trade and major scamming?
I think Blizzard should publish the droprates to ensure fair trade.

what drop rates? drop rates per monster?
i think they said they don't want to have boss runs. it will be quite impossible to have drop rates.

I asked your question to a friend and got a pretty satisfying response.
blizzard makes a profit from real money auction house fees and it would be foolish to drive people away from their game doing screwball stuff like that

I think your friend is right, but there's still lack of transparancy. Changes could be very subtle so nobody will notice it. Also: Blizzard isn't one entity but has a lot of employees and the RMHA will run for at least a decade or two. At some point in time there could be at least one person who is asked for a little favor. And when there's no transparancy and you have debts on your bank account (despite working for Blizzard), that little favor can become quite daunting.

Of course there must be drop rates. When there's random loot, there have to be drop rates at some point in the code or powerful unique items will drop as much as quivers.

There is actually an ongoing scandal inside Blizzard with D2. Evidently one of the developers that still work on the game is linked to one or many item selling websites.
Evidently one duping method was fixed, only to be replaced by another duping method in order to shake off competition. The dupe that was introduced in the most recent patch has been described as "obvious" and is very easy to perform, the implication is that the new dupe was invented to make duping even easier, for people that know how it works anyway.
In other words, Blizzard programmer invents dupe to fulfill his own item service side job. This has likely been going on forever.
The impact it had on D2 as a whole? Fairly nominal.
So what I am saying is, the RMAH system is built to withstand the aspirations of those who run it. As for more obvious finagling, Blizzard wouldn't profit from the transactions if they hurt the game.
EDIT: Pretty sure the guy above was just confused by the term "drop rate."

Can you cash out of the real money AH? I think this point alone will determine diablo 3 being good or bad..

They've confirmed this before, I don't think it has changed.

I can't see how there wouldnt be boss runs, plus with those MF shrines, already leoric runs seems like worth the trouble.

For bosses, drops degrade over number of times killed. Your first Leoric drop will almost always drop a rare, every consecutive one after that will not.
I believe Act Bosses are immune from this however.

Holy ....! Am I the only one upset by this?
Can you actually buy items for real money?! Are you kidding me? This is the worst bull I have ever heard? So what? When I'm done playing the game and I'd like to go and do some pvp cause I love competitiveness and getting good and beating people, I have to play vs some sad bastard who just sat on his ass and spend his own real money to get some good equipment??
.....
Way to ruin sense of accomplishment and PvP for all of us who aren't sad enough to spend real money to make a game easier for us.
Sorry for the harsh language but this really rubs me the wrong way.

You do realize this is possible in just about every game that exists right???
The only difference, is that Blizzard is controlling the transactions and not some 3rd party.

i don't know about that in lower difficulties but as far as i remember in inferno they said there will be flat difficulty among with flat drop rate. but i'm not quite sure.

Blizzard isn't selling items to anybody. Auction House means that players have to sell items from there own stock of items.
