Read http://www.complexitygaming.com/news/2330/# Their not going for sponsors (I mean do you really think they haven't been contacted by anyone? ![]() You aren't understanding what Catz is saying. What he is saying is they want to build ROOT to be a professional gaming organization, like SK, fnatic, Evil Geniuses or many of the other teams. They have gotten offers from these teams, and others, to join but would rather start their own thing. The difference being sponsors(eg. Intel, AMD, Alienware, etc. etc.) and sponsored (Fnatic,SK,Startale, etc. etc.) So yes, ROOT do want sponsors.

This is a big let down for the sc2 community, I hope FXO doesn't just grab players but actually use them in tournaments, especially team leagues. Do some more research dude. We are in 2 team leagues right now.

It's kind of sad when your buying yourself a name theirs alot of really good players out their that could be some of the best if they had the luxury of not having a full time job/sponsors why not develop them instead?? Yes we know your team got money but this really is doing nothing for your reputation. I can assure you this isn't a "poaching incident". I have been a huge fan of qxc since the beta and he is actually the player that got me into the pro SC2 scene. In all his interviews and statements there are two things qxc regularly states, 1) he wants to be a progamer of the highest caliber and 2) if he wants to do something he becomes extremely motivated and will stop at nothing until he accomplishes that. qxc graduates in the spring with his degree. Unfortunately, ROOT doesn't have the funds (due to no sponsor) to promote worldwide tournament competition and travel. qxc personally wanted a team that could support him as a progamer. This is nothing bad on ROOT at all but qxc wanted to participate in world events and go to Korea. He couldn't do this under ROOT but he can do this under FXO. The man made the perfectly logical decision in his growth as a progamer and will end up being better for it. I am excited for FXOqxc. Plus it is easier to type.

The roster wasn't full and with GLaDe in Korea and a pretty tight practice schedule on top of smaller events it wasn't really an option to join a huge number of team leagues. We'd have to use the same four players in each one and it would get tiring - expect to see more of a presence in team leagues from now on though!

This team will not excel. None of these players have accomplished anything, and when it comes to it, I've lost faith in their abilities to be one of SC2's greats. Most (all but top 3) I've never heard of. I think I remember moonglade from WC3 and he was nothing too special. QXC, you've played some of the most entertaining games I've seen and you're the one they should blame for blue flame hellions. I defy you to find a Zerg 6 months ago who didn't hate properly used helions, and ~2.5x damage (?!?! i still can't believe blizz chose to have such an upgrade) on your drones and lings, but thanked god they came along sooo much less wtf. But you knew. Still, you haven't performed in your major tournaments and I think you might not have that quality. Many other pro-athletes share this syndrome. Lebron James, yo. Sheth - your intro to Zerg post was what got me into understanding the Zerg engine. I'm in the lower master league, and I've gotten there on the Zerg fundamentals learned reading your guide. But like, you sign up for tournaments and don't come (I heard in an MLG cast or something, correct me if I'm wrong) and I think you're just really skilled but don't give a shit - Carmelo Anthony. You're never gonna get your shit together enough to win anything big: so much wasted talent. I'd bet 3 figures on many pro gamers. I wouldn't on you guys.

Great to see FXO grow. I don't see why people complain on QXC shifting over, people go from "small, idealistic, grassroots " teams to professional teams with proper backing all the time in other sports. If you want to be the best you have to have the finances so you can practice full time to be the best.
