In the coming days, the GSL registration will begin. FXOpen e-Sports will be officially sending FXOmOOnGLaDe to compete to get into the GSL tournament. In the upcoming weeks, Mr Andrew Pender will be practicing his life out in order to show the world what Aussies are made of, in Korea.
As the director of FXOpen I am proud to be sending our first player abroad for an event.
We look forward to seeing Andy perform and make myself, and his fans proud.
Being in the top 200 on Korean ladder, we felt that it was our obligation to allow Andy to spread his wings and not be held back anymore.
It is our intention to send more players to such events in the future, and to help the e-Sports community grow.
Happy gaming!

Great news! Andy I wish you all the best.
This is the sort of stuff I wish was more available. The more foreigners giving GSL a (legitimate) shot the better for the scene.

Australian esports scene is underated. i think tasteless said something about a chunk of GSL international viewers are actually Australian... Then went off giving advice on how to avoid alligators when there are none in Australia.

No good Aussie since legionaire right? He was last televised SC1 gamer before idra.
|
Happy to see foreigners keep trying out Korea even after the GSL Open Seasons ended. It might be harder to get up the ranks but I have no doubt that FXOmOOnGLaDe will be able to reach at least Code A.
|
Do me proud Mr. Pender <3

he should practise very hard, otherwise he wont have big chances i think
|
I've also been really impressed by moonglade's play and wish him all the best! Will definitely watch his games.
|
Congrats!! more foreigners in GSL = always welcome
If he wins there he will be in preeliminary, right? if he wins that he will be code A. then he must be top 8 Code A to be in up & down matches, i think if he wins that he is in Code S
Just checkin if i understanded the GSL
Long way to go, so Good Luck
|
gl glade, hope you find some hot korean chicks too

Reserves team / left over players after the main team

32 open slots / top 200 on Korean ladder ~ 16% for him to qualify for code A. He has a better chance of winning by going all in long on Euro.

The Australia A team was the fringe players that were almost the main team standards, touring teams that came to Aus would play the Australia A team as a kind of warm up before playing the main Australian team and a lot of the time our back-up team would romp them.....also a few years back Australia had 7 out of 11 in the World XI, but now we suck lol
Also TheOne Kor ladder > NA ladder in the cheese AFAIK

Lol probability games.. I like it, but you failed... You have to take into account the amount of times he has won/lost vs code A players. Which puts him to around 28%

This is great news! Good luck to moonglade! Thanks for supporting his endeavours to Korea FXOpen From what I have seen on his stream I don't think he will disappoint.

WOW I'm so impressed! I personally didn't catch it, but regardless, I'm pleased that the Jays are catering! As for unstables youtube channel... As far as I know, thats basicly what Aus has to offer in Aus SC2 casting. He goes alright, actually! Really enjoy when they do aussie KotH, etcs, you should check out his stream some time, and help Australia establish a larger scene here!

SEA has arrived.
|
Thanks for the links. There was something in the news during Tom & Alex's breakfast show about parents banning children from playing computer games in SK and they went off on a little tangent about StarCraft mentioning that an Aussie was going there to play professionally. If you've ever listened to T&A on JJJ they usually go into banter with the news chick briefly after the news report. Pretty sure they only said his first name not his ID, perhaps they frequent TL or know him irl?
This was at 7am by the way

OK, so I'm going with glade now... and its chinese new year at that time..

Awake at 7:00 am?! Must've just been finishing your last ladder for the night then...?
Tom and Alex seem a touch on the nerdy side. Or possibly it was something Paul Vohoeven told them in passing? He is a HUGE nerd - runs the segment "Nerds of a feather."... or... Its now called World of Nerdcraft?... Huge blizz reference there.
|
wow. congratulations to glade. i can't wait to see him compete.

This was at 7am by the way Would be pretty cool if they interviewed him after he finishes his run in the GSL. Oh and wasn't he on Good Game before? In the ep where they reviewed SC2 (Or one before it, where he talked about the beta?) Hahaha yeah back when T was super imba, and he said so in a less than subtle way
